November 1
To seek me as I intend is to exercise willful intent. I created you with a need only I can satisfy and assigned you to a task you cannot complete without me. Seeking me and everything I provide then becomes essential to life and effectiveness. The need will be experienced as intense desire, not just to receive my provision, but to be in my presence, to know my love, to have faith, to be safe and whole, and to experience peace and confidence. Yes, seek me with all your heart. You will find me and everything you need to meet the demands of this assignment.
Psalm 63:1
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
November 2
Pray in a way that shows your unwavering belief that I am the only resource in this matter. Act in a way that proves you believe I will answer your prayer—indeed, that I am already answering it beyond your understanding. Follow me in a way that demonstrates your unwavering belief that your life depends on following well.
1 Kings 17:21-22
And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.” The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!
November 3
The swirl of activity will not settle. It is the nature of this assignment. But the peace I provide and the rest you need are available. Turn your mind away from the demand of decisions and turn it to me. You will find that simple act is empowered by my Spirit, and peace that does not make sense amid all the clamor will emerge. You will have entered my presence, and your strength will be renewed.
Psalm 23:1-3
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
November 4
To pray is to willingly linger with me and discover the emergence of my culture in you…my nature, my mission, my love, my reality, and my purpose. I built you to act, and you long for the “doing” of my intent. But my character and its refinement in you must always precede action. Otherwise, your life will fill with meaningless wandering. The work is important. Focus upon me. I will direct the doing. I am your purpose and effectiveness.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Ephesians 3:20
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
November 5
Grace is the gift of my presence and favor. It is everything I use to shelter you at just the right time and in just the right way. It is me carrying you when you cannot take another step. It is the healing power of my Spirit soaking into the wounds and scars of your life. It is armor that deflects harm. It is the gentleness of my love wrapped around you. It is my strength when you are weak. It is my confidence when you despair. It is my joy present when you are unable to summon it. It is me, freely given. You need not fear. Seek me and lean on my grace. I am sufficient.
Psalm 91:4-6
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
November 6
Discovery is my gift to you. It requires faith, trust, patience, and time in my Presence. To discover is to wait upon me, to seek me. In the waiting, I reveal what must be adjusted, confessed, repented, and remedied by my touch. In the waiting, I prepare you for the action I will soon direct. In the waiting, I have your attention to the image I am developing as it gradually gains clarity and allows understanding. Interrupt your roll through the morning, and thank me for the gift of discovery.
Colossians 1:27b
…And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
Isaiah 43:18-19
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
October 2025
October 1
I heard your questions about the future, and I know the depth of your desire. After all, I have been shaping those desires for a long time. My work in you and through you is constant. It will not end with the reach of time or variance of circumstance. My provision of strength, insight, wisdom, resource, and the fullness of my power in you to do as I direct will always be provided in accordance with my purpose in that to which I assign you. You need not be anxious about the future. I have it well in hand. Your job is to follow me.
Philippians 2:13
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
October 2
I have demonstrated my ability to you, and you have experienced my peace. Yet, you are aware that there remains a great deal of work to do, and you do not yet know how it will be accomplished. In that context, I want you to remember that the question is not whether I can provide but whether you trust me to provide. My interest is in your development as a follower...faith, trust, dependence, obedience. Pray always. It brings you near. Follow me.
Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
October 3
I acted as I told you I would. Draw comfort from what you have seen and experienced as you ponder how to accomplish that to which I have pointed you. Remember...you must follow me in this task as well. Does it make sense to you that, having led and provided in each piece of my assignment to you, I would cease to do so now? Of course not. I am not teaching you how to engineer solutions...I am teaching you how to follow me on my terms.
Proverbs 4:20-23
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
October 4
I choose to keep you on the sharp edge of dependence upon me. It is the nature of the assignment I have given you and of my work with you personally. So, stop looking around at what you perceive to be the easy path others take. That is not your concern. You follow where I lead. I am your guide, your protector, and your provider. You will be fine, but there is more to learn about following me.
Isaiah 43:2-3
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...
October 5
I hear your prayer for your friend. My hand is on him but stay vigilant as I strengthen him. His struggle is heavy, like a mountain's weight pressing down on him. I will reveal power through prayer as you intercede, but you must remain steadfast. Remember, mountains can be moved. Stay close and keep praying.
Matthew 21:21-22
Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it."
October 6
Trust me for the provision you seek. I led you here, and I am still guiding you. Look back and remember the many times I directed, provided, protected, and blessed you. We have walked among tall mountains and fierce lions before, yet here you are. As we move forward, I will plant in you understanding of how to act and how to decide in the many questions that come to you. The path will become clear. Come closer, and step where I step.
Daniel 6:22-23
My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”
The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.
October 7
Yes, you are aware of it. You are discovering that remaining in my presence is a normal part of your life. Your habit of coming and going is gradually giving way to staying close to me, and you notice the difference in your peacefulness and confidence of direction. My Spirit is connected to yours. It is not something easy to describe because it is spiritual in nature...me in you...the living Word within you. That is what allows you to follow me as I intend. Stay, and you will learn so much more.
Colossians 1:9-10
So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
Colossians 1:27b
…And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
October 8
You have my favor because you recognize your need for me. The reason you don't always feel favored is that you struggle to surrender control, even though you understand my requirement for submission. It is a matter of your will not yielding to mine, driven by the expectations of others, your sense of responsibility to those expectations, and the fear that you may fail to meet them. We have important work to accomplish. I am ready to guide and bless the work and its results, but I wait for you to relax into my hand. I have always had this and always will. Pray into my presence and rest there.
Matthew 5:3
God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
October 9
One of my followers wrote about the “race” I put before you, the assignment we have discussed so much. My assignment to you includes broad strategic elements—a general attitude and behavior aligned with my expectations. It also includes specific tactical elements—the application of your resources in a particular context, at a specific time, and for a purpose aligned with my direction to deepen understanding of my way among people. You are discovering how my culture . . . my nature, my mission, my ethic, and my reality are integrated into your daily responsibilities. The key to understanding both elements is staying in position with me, to abide, keep your eyes on, and remain yoked to me, just as I have taught you.
Hebrews 12:1-2a
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
October 10
Keep this thought alive in your mind through the urging of my Spirit…you can do nothing on your own. Any attempt to self-appoint or self-accomplish is, at best, a weak imitation of what can be accomplished through my strength and grace. Many years ago, you asked and I answered, equipping, assigning, and provisioning you for my purpose. The fulfillment of my plan has no expiration date or age restriction. It requires no human approval and does not depend on the marginal resources you so carefully measure. Did I not illustrate this just a few days ago? Rise into the day. Confess my promise. Seek me. Expect me. I AM.
John 5:30
I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
2 Timothy 3:17
That the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
October 11
It is a mystery of faith and a promise that can never be invaded or broken. The moment you believed in the truth of my being and sacrifice, I took up residence in your heart—a designed place touching your mind, your will, and your spirit—my Holy Spirit in you. Just as Moses and I communicated directly, so do you and I. Learn to use this essential communication system I designed and installed in you; you can easily become lost without it. But with it, expect the leading and power of my Spirit in every aspect of your life.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
October 12
I delight to the sound of your voice when you speak aloud and sing to me from the fullness of your heart. It tells me that you understand the fullness and importance of my love for you. Keep singing...you enter into my presence as I move toward the sound.
Psalms 92:1-4
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done.
October 13
I understand the question on your mind. You asked for my attention to a matter, and, as you see it, I have not responded. Rest assured: My promises and expectations remain unchanged. They are true and dependable. Reflect on the conditions of our relationship... humbly surrendered in my presence, seeking me exclusively, confessing and repenting of sin, delighting in me, consistently asking according to my will. I will reveal what has come between us—the unsurrendered part. Confess it and receive my clarifying forgiveness and love.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
Psalm 139: 23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
October 14
There is much more I want to teach you about myself and my way. We have only begun to scratch the surface. You are learning that my requirements are not harsh; rather, they are rooted in love and grace so deep that they are beyond understanding. Still, my requirements are clear. Following me is not a spiritual do-it-yourself project or a matter of chance. I require your intentional surrender to me—your will, your thoughts, and your actions—elements that are the core of the freedom I have given you. I invite you to surrender to me what you value most so you can experience its fullness. It is an extreme requirement calling for extreme faith and trust, with an extreme result. Follow me.
Deuteronomy 10:12
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.
Matthew 11:29-30
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
October 15
I created you with such freedom that you are free to ignore me. There have been times when you have chosen that path, favoring one desire or another. But, you have discovered the sweetness and peace I have long promised in the role of a dependent follower-learner, as your will is submitted to mine. How often I have opened a way for you that did not exist before I created it. How often you have found peace in my presence as I guided your thoughts and actions during uncertain times. How often I sheltered you from things that were unknown to you—some I allowed you to see only afterward, and others I chose to keep from your awareness altogether. You are mine, and I am your rock. Follow me.
Isaiah 26:3-4
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 26:7-8
But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them. Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.
October 16
Yes, in human terms, my expectation of total devotion is extreme. So was my act to redeem you, and so is my promise to fulfill you. You ask how to obey at that level of intentionality. It is only through my indwelling power. It is the mystery by my design—you in me and I in you. I seek your willingness to surrender to my way. From that point, I will guide and provide for the course of your life. I do not promise ease; instead, I offer effectiveness and fulfillment. Trust me.
John 14:4
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
Matthew 12:30
And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
October 17
The newness I speak of does not come from deliberate self-reform. It arises when you surrender your pride and will to the power of my reality and presence, leading to a transformation akin to being reborn. In truth, it is spiritual rebirth and newness through my power and love to choose you, set apart for my purpose. My provision of newness is not based on any particular qualities you have, your good deeds, or any intentions you have exercised. I rebirthed you as an act of my will and grace. Now, seek me by faith for everything that comes next.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Romans 6:4
For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
October 18
It is good that you seek me about a clean heart... that this place occupied by my Spirit, connecting your spirit, mind, and will to me, be fully tuned to obedience, free from sin and distraction, blameless, and entirely devoted to honoring me in every aspect of life and eternity. You try to keep it pure through your own effort and find it to be an elusive task. Confess your inability to meet my standard, and trust me by faith to do it for you. Such purity, loyalty, and clarity of intent are experienced only through my forgiving grace and the restorative work of my Spirit in you. Yes, ask, and I will cleanse your heart and prepare you for my “next.”
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
2 Chronicles 16:9a
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.
October 19
You spoke of uncertainty and asked for clarity—how best to proceed in this matter. Remember, I understand your heart. Stop overthinking strategy and calmly give me your full attention. Your motivation in asking stems from pride of agenda and performance rather than discovering my way. Your pride caused the confusion. Get back into position. Seek me, not a solution. You will find my Spirit already at work. Before you consciously asked, I was already guiding your thoughts to align with my intentions. Confess your pride. Pray and come into my presence. I will show you how to move forward.
Romans 8:26-27
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
October 20
I have set markers that show when I am working within and through you. When you love and seek peace; when you are gentle in your interactions; when you humble yourself and yield to others; when you show mercy; when you do what is good, honorable, and sincere; when you avoid favoritism; and when you make peace amid turmoil...you will realize that you are reflecting me and my way. At that moment, you will experience my presence, power, strength, and direction in your assignment.
James 3:17-18
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
October 21
The story of which you are now aware stretches back forty years. Through that time, I listened to the prayers of my people who sought me for a blessing on the city. Many threads of grace are woven into my work that are ongoing. Assemble the pieces and tell the story. Encourage the people with how I have worked so that they may anticipate what I will do in the territory that lies ahead.
Deuteronomy 8:2-4
And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
October 22
Prayer is far more important than you realize. It is the most powerful tool I entrust to you, yet it is often the least attended. It should be used intentionally and continuously, guided by faith through the power of my Spirit and aligned with the truth of my Holy Word. That mysterious experience is far more than just mental exercise. Thought-directed prayer stays under your control and is mostly about you and what you think you need. Spirit-directed prayer is about me and what I intend for your life. It is an essential difference. Only through Spirit-directed prayer will you truly discover me as the Source of your life.
Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
October 23
At the heart of my expectation is your honor of me supremely and your unreserved responsive obedience to my commands. Those two things are central to the concept of following me. Both require your humility enacted by surrender of your way to mine. Yet, that one thing…surrendered humility, the willful emptying of yourself, abandoning your agenda, loss of control…frightens you. Despite your desire to be my follower, you do not trust my love and ability. Yet, I make it clear that the humbling of yourself is the first step to the effectiveness you seek in this assignment. Only three questions really matter. Do you believe that I am? Do you trust that I can? Do you have faith that I will? If you will but ask, I will show you how to find an honest “yes” to each. But…you must ask.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
Philippians 2:3-8
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Luke 14:11
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
October 24
Examine your faith as you consider the extension of my assignment. I made you aware of my use of time and trust in my work. Now, I introduce you to next steps. You will experience the hope and challenges, but you will not live to see its ultimate fulfillment. Are you willing to enter this turning point by faith or will you consider yourself retired from active duty? I will wait for your answer before I reveal more.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
October 25
I did not assign you to personal glory or ease, but to service and influence directed by my Spirit. Therein will you experience the fulfillment you seek. You already possess the promise of eternity, so you may correctly assume that obedience to my direction will contribute to the expansion of my authority among people that they, by believing, will also inherit my promise. You will also be correct to think that I am with you clearing the way forward according to my purpose. Take care that you seek me in this work, not the approval of others. Indeed, my way will lead you against the tide of human interests. My Presence is your strength and your salvation. Follow me into the future in peace and confidence.
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Hebrews 6:10-12
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
October 26
Innocent. Trusting. Hopeful. Dependent. Yielding. Responsive. Joyful. Eager. Open. Honest. Like a child. These are the traits of greatness for which I watch in you and which I will bless with my favor. But, the system around you seeks greatness in ambition, status, power, and wealth. There is a wide gulf between these two perspectives. One requires dependence upon me and my unlimited resource. The other requires ever more dependence upon one's limited self. You have chosen my way. I have given you authority and resources to be used as I have directed, and I have granted you favor and influence among people. What have you lacked that I have not provided? Enter this day with the peaceful awareness of my nearness and authority, and proceed trusting, hopeful, dependent, yielding, responsive, joyful, eager, open, honest...like a child.
Matthew 18:3-5
Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.
October 27
Tell the story of my work among you. It is a story of redemption, transformation, and restoration. Celebrate each part of my revelation, each life touched, each challenge met, each blessing, and each encouragement. Acknowledge my Presence. Did I not agree long ago to show you my power? Did I not promise to hear, to forgive, and to restore? Yes, tell the story and know that I Am your God.
Psalm 71:18
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Psalm 145:4
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
October 28
The circumstances you ponder and about which you ask are elements of my way in a storyline that you touch but will not be a primary player. I have granted you understanding of my way in part and you know to diligently seek me on behalf of those for whom you care. Allow my Spirit full reign in this matter and trust me. I will guide your prayer and understanding as I am active in other lives. Continue to seek me in this. It is how I will involve you as part of building a wall of protection around that important story even as I bless your own.
Ephesians 6:18
Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
October 29
Remain humbly surrendered in my presence, seeking Me in all things at all times, confessing sin, ready to respond obediently to my direction. Has that not consistently been my answer to your questions over the years and the way you experience my blessing and fulfillment? I look at the intent of your heart, not your resume. When that intent is to know me and honor me above all else, you receive my favor. Approach this day and your questions with that responsibility and confidence.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.
October 30
I am the author of that lingering thought. I am opening your mind to a fresh approach to a long-held assignment. Remain in my Presence, seeking Me regarding the idea and those who will be involved. I will shape and develop my intent into specific actions and timing and reveal it to you. It is your tendency to rush into these things quickly. Stay at my pace and do not rely on your own planning. Discover my plan and act as I direct. I will make my intent clear. Trust me.
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Habakkuk 2:3
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
October 31
Never stop asking. The matter for which you have prayed for so long and hope for so deeply is impossible from any perspective except mine. You have seen me work in times and places that seemed just as difficult. I am working in this as well. So, keep on asking. Keep on seeking. Keep on knocking. For I have purpose in the wait. I am building faith in you as I shape discovery of me in others. Be persistent in asking. You will find me in the wait and in the persistence. The door will open.
Luke 11:9-10
And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Luke 11:11-12
You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
September 2025
September 1
Soak into the truth of my being and presence. I designed you to be complete only when inseparably linked to me. When you came to believe it, I placed my Spirit in you, sealing my promise of eternal life. With my Spirit came the full array of attributes you need to live and work effectively in this life. You need only humbly ask me to employ them . . . faith, love, wisdom, knowledge, discernment, strength, courage, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, vision, power . . . all exercised under my authority and for my purpose. Why, then, do you insist upon attempting this life without me?
John 15:4
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
Psalm 139:7
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?
Exodus 33:14
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
September 2
I know the weight of these circumstances upon you. I am here and will not let them crush you. Focus completely on me and move forward into the day. I guide you moment by moment and will make each step clear. This is where you learn next-level faith. In faith, your surrendered heart opens into my presence and power. In faith, you will experience my provision. In faith, you will hope. In faith, you will move. In faith, you will gain wisdom. In faith, you will find courage. In faith, your mind will expand. In faith, you will see and experience my restoration as I make it clear. In faith, trust me now, before you see my work.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
September 3
Have I not assigned you? Have you not seen my work? Have I not provided for you? These are facts of your life. Remember, and hold onto them as you move into the day. I AM your wisdom. I AM your vision. I AM your protection. I AM your courage. I AM your strength. And, I AM here. There is nothing in this web of circumstance of which I am unaware. Trust me to lead you through it.
Psalm 27:1, 14
The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid?
The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
1 Corinthians
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
September 4
You are frustrated because you cannot stay in step with me. I will reassure you. You never truly had the ability; no one does. That kind of strength only comes from my grace— a supernatural gift I give when I see your desire to follow me on my terms. Staying in my presence requires your constant focus. When you take your mind off me, our oneness is broken, you fall out of sync, and you stumble. Your frustration shows you are trying to follow me with your own strength instead of mine. Come close and lean on me. I provide you with the strength to live and to follow.
2 Corinthians 4:7
...but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
Isaiah 40:30-31
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
September 5
When you enter and remain in my presence, surrendered, seeking, repentant, you can trust that the thoughts rising in your mind are under the influence of my Spirit. Always test those thoughts to my recorded instructions. My Spirit in you will always confirm truth and reveal lies. Pray. Trust. Respond in obedience.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing...
John 15:7
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Jeremiah 29:12
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
September 6
You seek my blessing upon the city. Understand this: the gathering of my people—those who recognize that I am, who intentionally honor me above all else, and who come together not out of habit, tradition, or for personal gain, but with the purpose of simply being with me—is a particular delight to me. I honor it with my presence, my full attention, and my favor. Those who seek to understand me and in that understanding fear me...are my people. Find them, and you will find me and my favor, for I am among them.
Malachi 3:16-18
Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.
"They will be my people", says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
Matthew 18:19-20
I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.
September 7
Your existence and well-being depend on me. You act as if your skill and talent sustain you, but I am the origin and source of that ability. I also limit it to make you aware of your need for me. Have you not recognized this? You move fast in proud confidence, only to reach the edge of your control and margin, then fearfully search for options. Understand this--I designed you to need me. There, in dependent recognition of that need, will you experience the fullness of all I designed you to be, know, and do.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
September 8
Do not concern yourself with age or time running out. Calendar pages turn, and bodies age, but because of your faith in my promise, you are timeless. Return your attention to the assignment. You will always find my Spirit guiding you and providing enough thought, strength, and wisdom for the day. So, love your family again today. Write the next message. Move to the next meeting. Help the next friend. Take the next photo. Speak the next words. I have given you the privilege and authority to tell my story so that those around you will understand what I have done for them and come to believe.
Romans 1:16
1 This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News.
2 God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures.
The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line,
4 and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.
5 Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
6 And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.
7 I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people.
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
September 9
It is both a great mystery and a great truth. When you believed that I AM and that, through my death and resurrection, I saved you from sin, I established my Spirit in your heart—the meeting point of your mind, will, and spirit. I have been with you ever since. Yes, I dwell within you. This truth is my claim of protection over you and your access to my authority for life and everything it includes now and in the future. Through my Spirit, you know that you are mine. Through my Spirit, you receive power. Through my Spirit, you understand truth. Through my Spirit, you have wisdom and courage. Through my Spirit, you are my agent on assignment. And, through my Spirit, you have provision and guidance in the performance of that assignment. Any questions?
1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
Romans 8:9
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Romans 8:14
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
John 16:13-14
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.
September 10
The current economic uncertainties are troubling and require adjustments, but they are not permanent. You have seen the cycles before, and you have known my provision. I will guide the necessary decisions to adjust. Read my promises aloud. As you voice the words, allow my Spirit to fill you with the peace and confidence they contain. These words are not idle encouragement. They are evidence of my presence and care. As David confessed of uncertainty, “The Lord is my shepherd. I have all I need.”
Psalm 34:10
The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Romans 8:32
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Matthew 6:31-33
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
September 11
Remember. And as you remember, pray.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
Psalm 91:1-4
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
September 12
You understand who I am...that in me, and only in me, lies ultimate greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty. It is on that fact that you must base the full weight of your present existence, your future, and every decision involved in navigating the path between the two. It must not just be your understanding...it must be your unshakable belief that I am the Creator, Master, and Commander of all that is or ever will be. My assignment to you requires your belief to be solid and unwavering, not fragile or corroded. Seek me. Lean on me. Depend on me.
1 Chronicles 29:11
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.
September 13
Learn to find joy in me. This may seem distant right now, as you are focused on evidence of evil in the world and the challenges of work and family. Ask me to teach you to delight in my presence, to absorb my culture of light, joy, and meaning that go beyond and redefine any temporary life situation. That is what I mean by the concept of living bread from heaven. I am your Source of life. Fix your thoughts on me. I am what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worth praising. Thereby, you will receive peace and direction in the doings of this day.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
John 6:51
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
Psalm 34:8
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Philippians 4:6-8
Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
September 14
It is a matter of title and who holds that title. You must understand that, contrary to popular belief, I do not relinquish the title of what I have created to others. I always retain ownership, yet I grant qualified latitude to those I entrust as caretakers of certain parts of my property. I observe how that latitude is exercised in the use of my belongings. I have entrusted you with the care and use of valuable things—tools in your hands for carrying out my assignment. I have also made clear that the best practice and effectiveness require your ongoing communication with me. Stay close to me. Much is at stake.
1 Chronicles 29:12-15
Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.
Luke 12:48
...When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
September 15
I see you pondering my actions and wondering what I am doing and where it will lead. That is good, but you have been thinking, not praying. There is a difference between the two. Thinking and its derivatives of choice and decisions are my gifts to you, part of your created nature. Prayer is an act, empowered by my Spirit, through which you intentionally seek me. Thinking alone only reaches the limits of your being. Prayer extends beyond your being and brings you into my unlimited presence, authority, knowledge, and power. Prayer requires surrendering your will to mine, closes the distance between us, and puts you in the right position to understand my ways and purpose.
Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
September 16
Be careful not to be distracted from me by human ways of thinking, especially those with which you are most enamored. Test even the loftiest of opinions that claim to honor me. Do they lead to me or to a system of man that claims to represent me? In the clarity of my divine power and excellence, man-made systems, no matter how appealing, must always fail. You face an enemy that will subtly use your definition of good to deceive. I, and I alone, am your God. I have assigned you to engage the world and its ways in my power and under my specific direction. Even one well-intended degree off my way is a rush away from me in pursuit of an idol. My Spirit will enable the discernment needed to distinguish the difference.
2 Peter 1:3-4
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
September 17
Know the scope and power of my presence. I am clear in my instruction to seek me, to come into my presence and stay there. I designed you with an inherent desire that only I can fulfill. Like a picture puzzle requires a key piece to complete the image, so you require me to be whole. When you seek me, you will find me. When you open your mind and will to me, my Spirit will rush to you. The wherewithal that you seek is found in my presence. Why do you hesitate?
Exodus 33:14
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Psalm 91:1
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
1 John 2:27
But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
September 18
I know what fuels your anxiety and now bring it clearly to your mind. In these moments, set aside the justifications and excuses to honestly confess it to me. Receive my forgiveness and let me free you. As you confess, thank me for everything that causes you to depend upon me. As freedom emerges in you, I will shape your thoughts into a prayer for the expansion of my authority in you and in the task before you.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
September 19
Remember my promise and your “Yes.” Since then, you have remained my adopted child and heir to all my benefits. Step fully into my love as I teach you even more about faith and truth and thankfulness. Nothing can separate you from me and my power to establish you in this assignment. Expect the fulfillment of my calling and equipping for the next part of our journey. I am honoring your “Yes!” just as I promised, according to my purpose.
Colossians 2:6-8
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
September 20
My methods of provision require faith and courage. Many years ago, early in our relationship, you asked to see my power firsthand. I granted your request. In doing so, I made you depend on me, because only in complete dependence can you fully experience my power. As I have led you in other times and circumstances, I am leading and providing now. Stay close. Pray. I will establish your thoughts and guide your actions. Your response, as it has been many times before, must be by faith, with courage, in obedience, acting exactly as I direct.
Exodus 17:6
I will stand before you on the rock at Mount Sinai. Strike the rock, and water will come gushing out. Then the people will be able to drink.” So Moses struck the rock as he was told, and water gushed out as the elders looked on.
September 21
We have journeyed together for a long time. What evidence do you find in all that I have not met your needs? Correct...there is none, for I have watched over you, blessed you, and guided every step you take. The current issue is no different. I have already begun to direct your thoughts to the next part of this assignment. Stay very close. Keep your spirit-eyes on me and your spirit-ears tuned to my voice. Act as I direct.
Deuteronomy 2:7
For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.
September 22
You asked about the future of the city and who I will appoint to lead it. I have made the assignment. He was not yet born when you first learned to trust me on this journey. As your faith was refined over many years and as challenges taught you to trust my Spirit’s leading, I was watching over a young boy, growing him in preparation for this day and this assignment. I have given him a sound mind and a strong heart. Now, call my people to pray for him and ask that My Spirit be upon him. Tomorrow, I will act to establish him in the role to which I called him. My Spirit will lead him, and I will extend my blessing upon the city and its people.
Proverbs 11:11
By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted . . .
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Isaiah 65:24
Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
Isaiah 11:2-5
And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
He will delight in obeying the LORD.
He will not judge by appearance
nor make a decision based on hearsay.
He will give justice to the poor
and make fair decisions for the exploited.
The earth will shake at the force of his word,
and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.
He will wear righteousness like a belt
and truth like an undergarment.
September 23
I care deeply about our city's well-being and the continuation of what I believe is Spirit-directed governance among us. Therefore, I am interrupting my usual pattern in these posts to remind every reader in Mobile, Alabama, of their duty to vote today in the mayoral runoff election that will influence the next decade of our history.
Many of you share my support for Judge Spiro Cheriogotis. Do not be complacent. Your vote matters. If you want continued good government — Spirit-directed governance in the Mayor’s office — you need to vote for it.
According to historical data from Mobile's mayoral elections, the average decrease in voter turnout from primary to runoff is about 15 percentage points.
Reject that trend. Join me, first by casting your vote today for Judge Cheriogotis, and second, by asking the Holy Spirit to stir the spirit of each citizen to vote for good God-honoring government in our city.
Ezra 1:5
Then rose up the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem.
September 24
I have always taught you that following me is a way of seeking me... close seeking... watching as we journey shoulder to shoulder and matching my every move. It is always necessary, but especially important in the dark. My love, compassion, and faithfulness are the light you need to see me. Wait for my move. I did not assign you to run ahead to solve your own problems. Wait and watch. Move only within the light of my power and goodness. Trust me to show you things you will see only in my presence. Seek me.
Isaiah 30:18
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
September 25
We have been on this journey for a long time by your measure, and you have never lacked provision or direction. Your step faltered a time or two, but I caught your stumble, brushed you off, and steadied your pace forward. Through all of that, your belief firmed, your faith expanded, and you experienced things you never thought possible. Your perspective now allows you to look back a long way, and it is easy to spend time gazing into the past. But my plan for you is around that next turn. Gather yourself and fix your attention upon me. There is something in the territory ahead that I want to show you.
Isaiah 30:21
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Psalm 37:23
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way;
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
September 26
Every step with me is a faith journey, intentionally so. My purpose is to constantly encourage your faith in my ability to reach depths and breadths you have not experienced before. So, in the closeness of following, I expect you to invest trust and confidence in the promise I reveal to you before you see my action, believing my promise as full proof of truth-in-fact by faith, my promise of victory before the battle is fought. It is the Spirit-directed way of living with me that I require of you as my follower.
Judges 7:9
That night the Lord said, “Get up! Go down into the Midianite camp, for I have given you victory over them!
Psalms 16:7-8, 11
I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
September 27
Your thoughts dwell upon organizational structures, legal affairs, and financial capabilities. I will lead you through that work. But you have learned that your hope and trust cannot be in those mechanisms. I am your help and shield. I am the source of joy. I am the focus of your trust. My love and protection surround you. And I will show you the way through. Come to me with the circumstances and emotions...ease your grip and release them to me.
Psalms 33:20-22
We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.
September 28
There is a critical lack of understanding among citizens in your homeland regarding who I consider to be my people. Apart from a special promise I have made to Israel, my people are those who believe my promise of salvation secured through my death and resurrection. I have termed that spiritual transaction being born again. Presumed affiliation with me by birth or residence in your nation does not constitute a relationship with me. The evidence of new birth...spiritual birth...is demonstrated by willingness to follow me on my terms. It is they I have allowed to call themselves by my name, Christians, and I include them in my promise of restoration on conditions previously stated..."if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
John 3:3, 16-18
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son."
Acts 11:26
...It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.
September 29
I am establishing knowledge in you that will direct your actions in accordance with my intended way of life and with my specific assignment to you. You are learning that remaining in my presence and placing confidence in my ability brings depth of joy and blessing that can only be experienced in a relationship with me. Yield yourself to me and rest.
Psalms 16:11
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
September 30
I have already prepared the resources to meet the need of which you have become aware. The answer to your petition is before you, though your ability to see it is blurred by distance from me. Come back to me. I am still leading, but you must remain close to see my steps.
Isaiah 65:24
I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!
August 2025
August 1
Following me will always return you to faith. No matter the skill or its lack; no matter the resources relied upon, strong or weak; no matter the cause, common or noble; in time it will run to its human end and reduce to faith. Do you believe? Do you trust? Do you have faith that I AM and that I am able?
Your answer cannot be "Yes, and I will..." It is and must always be "Yes, Lord!" There and there only do I script the next instant's content.
The current matter remains both a challenge to faith and evidence of faith. So, exercise faith and pray as I instructed you, “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.”
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
August 2
Pull your mind from solution exploration and speculation. Seek me in this matter. Do so purely, shifting your dependence fully to me. Remain in my presence and experience the expansion of my Spirit in you, displacing irrelevant thought with the clarity of my wisdom and instruction for action. Surrender your sacrifice of belief, faith, and trust into my hands and wait as I purify it, removing all residue of doubt and pride. Then watch as I bless and expand it into the reality of my purpose in you.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Psalm 69:32
The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.
Psalm 63:1-4
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
August 3
The hope I placed in you…hope of truth and relationship with me, now to eternity fired by my Spirit…that is your guiding light. I will keep it there, always to be found at a glance in the midst of roaring challenge or in a moment of peaceful quiet. The reality of that hope and the reality of its promise allows you to move in confidence even when that move is into unfamiliar territory. It is the evidence of my love for you. Reflect upon my hope and light.
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
Exodus 13:21-22
The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.
August 4
Ask me for the strength you need. I will provide it…strength to seek me, strength to stand, strength to believe, strength to hold faith, strength to trust, strength to move forward. My grace…the sum of all that I am applied to my purpose for you…is more than sufficient for this moment. Exhale the residue of doubt and shadow. Breathe in my Spirit; experience my filling; stand firm in my strength; take the next step.
1 Peter 5:12
…My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.
1 Thessalonians 4:1
…we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.
1 Peter 5:9a
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.
August 5
I wish for you to understand more of my grace... a small word with an incomprehensible breadth of meaning... a shorthand for all that I offer you. Grace is me moving near you in an act of extravagant love. It is my provision. It is my direction. It is my protection. It is my favor. It is my forgiveness. It is my healing. It is my restoration. It is my salvation. It is my blessing. It is Me, in all my righteousness and holiness, coming to you as an exercise of my will and purpose, not because you deserve it, but because I love you and choose to act for you. This is a day in which my grace will be necessary. Depend upon it. Even more...invest your life in it.
Romans 5:21
So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Luke 7:42
But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?
August 6
Seek me in the turmoil. I will give you trust and rest. Although each seems far from you, my grace extends beyond your reason and covers you like a warm blanket in the cold of night. It is the evidence of my presence and your safety, and it is the surety of my guidance and provision. These precious truths—love, belief, trust, faith, peace, and confidence seem out of reach right now. Even so, seek me and experience the comfort of my Spirit as a sign of my grace. In my quiet, I will reveal the way forward.
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Exodus 33:14
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
August 7
Be encouraged by this—you gathered in belief and faith, and you have seen the power of my Spirit around you. So do not be discouraged by the hard parts; I told you it would be so. But I also told you that my grace is abundant in such situations, enabling you to excel in doing good according to my purpose. Continue as I have taught you, for when you gather, I am there, and my power is upon you. Come—you are my witness, and there are more stories to create.
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Isaiah 32:15
until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field,
and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.
August 8
Lean further into my grace… seek me concerning prayer and faith. There is more I will reveal to you. Step into the shadows you hide from view, the things that mingle with doubt. Confess the reality of doubt and ask me to illuminate it, not with a solution, but with faith that a solution will be revealed and experienced. I will respond, and through my grace, you will find hope. Solutions follow faith and hope, and when they come, you will recognize them as my act of grace.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
John 1:16
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
August 9
I created these early refreshing moments with you in mind, knowing you would seek me out. It is a good time to connect, to settle into your spot next to me without distractions, and to listen as I guide your thoughts in preparation for the day. Some of the day's content is clear, but there is much you do not know. You are focused only on what you can understand, while I have no limits of space, time, or resources. Therefore, my instructions are based on my infinite awareness and connection with my creation. Listen carefully before this day begins, for you are part of something very, very big.
Psalms 5:3, 11-12
Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.
Mark 1:35
Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
August 10
I long for the expression of genuine gratitude for all I am doing for you...not because I need it, but because of what it signifies has happened in you. Your praise and thanks show me that you understand our relationship...that you recognize I am the Creator, Master, and Commander and that you are not. Your praise reflects humility in you, and I respond to that humility by giving more of myself to you and around you. It is the perfect way to define our relationship and allows me to guide you fully into my plan for you. Keep it up...it is music to my ears!
2 Chronicles 5:13-14
The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God.
August 11
By my grace and sacrifice, you are given the opportunity to experience the fullness of my intent—not just daily existence in this world but living in my presence and power. When you believed, you were made new, reborn into a living relationship with me. Act like it. Consider yourself dead to old ways of thinking and doing, and alive to my way. Actively and intentionally seek me in the new life I give you. I am cultivating it in you, building that desire, breaking old patterns, and opening your mind to my purpose. So, why do you hesitate? Put aside the old ways and step into my light and strength. My Spirit will renew your thoughts and attitudes, and your eyes will be opened.
Isaiah 43:18-19
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Ephsians 4:21-24
Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
August 12
I am quiet because it causes you to listen for me. In the quiet, I will show you some things about yourself—things that need to be adjusted before you move forward. Had I not interrupted your confident stride, you might not have sought me as you have these past many days, and you would have missed the turn ahead. I know you have questions. It is my intent that you discover the answers in dependence upon me, one day at a time. You will like what you discover.
John 1:5
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Isaiah 30:18, 21
So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.
August 13
The freshness you sense is my restoring Spirit. I am right here with you, watching, guiding, shaping your will to mine, and introducing thought. Remain in my presence and continue to seek me diligently. Receive my peace and confess the confidence that rises as I lead you step by step to discover my intent in this matter. Trust me.
Psalm 23:3
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Psalm 37:23-24
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.
August 14
You ask that I change circumstances that trouble you. I understand your request, but my greater interest is that you discover faith and trust in my sufficiency under the weight of these circumstances. This will bring you face-to-face with your weakness and lead you to my strength and power. Even now, my Spirit is working in you, drawing you under the cover of my grace and strength. Confess your inability as I dissolve your pride, so that my power can rest upon you. There, you will find peace and confidence through faith and trust. There, you will know that I am carrying you through the circumstances. There, you will find each next step and the courage to move.
Philippians 4:11-13
Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
August 15
Distractions are many; they always will be. I am the constant in your life. Seek me with all your heart. Focus your mind on me. Just as a lighthouse guides a sailor, my Word and Spirit guide you. Commit yourself to me and my way. I will calm your anxious mind and make the path ahead clear. I will give you the courage to respond obediently and prepare each step. I Am. Confess it. Trust. Move as I direct.
Luke 12:31
Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
Luke 11:9
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
August 16
Diligently seek Me for wisdom during this season of decisions. Ask, and I will give it generously. Pray for wisdom to be shared among the people. I will pour it out and multiply it like a nourishing rain on the ground. Wisdom includes good judgment, knowledge, and discernment. With My wisdom, expect My provision of courage to embrace it and follow it. As you do, you will find My favor in and around you.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Proverbs 8
1 Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!
2 On the hilltop along the road, she takes her stand at the crossroads.
3 By the gates at the entrance to the town, on the road leading in, she cries aloud,
4 “I call to you, to all of you! I raise my voice to all people.
12 “I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don’t ignore it.
34 Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home!
35 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD.
August 17
I am with you now as you prepare for the meeting, and I will be with you as you speak. Expect the movement of my Spirit in your mind and voice. Experience the peace and confidence that come with this knowledge. I will open your eyes to everything happening among the people and tune your thoughts to the most effective combination of words, tone, and movement as you communicate. In all this, you will know what it is like to stand in your world and in my presence at the same time. This is My wisdom at work.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
August 18
Our journey on this trail is purposeful. I have been teaching you daily, building valuable qualities in you...faith, belief, understanding, insight, strength, desire, and ability. When you needed rest, did you not find it? When you needed strength, was it not within you? When you needed to make a decision, did you not know what it should be? I am with you, giving you daily the desire and power to do what pleases me. Receive encouragement from your experience with me in the steps already taken as you consider the next step.
Philippians 2:13
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
August 19
Pray for your city. Bring it to me as if it were an exquisite treasure in need of care. There is work I wish to do among my people there and through their extended influence. Come humbly, surrendered, and seek me for my purpose. Ask me to raise a new generation of leaders who honor me on my terms, who are hungry for my Spirit’s control of their lives, and who have the courage to represent me properly in their respective professions. The work to which you have been witness and the extension of my interests there will continue. Seek me for it. Expect it.
Isaiah 62:1-2
Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
August 20
I saw the shadow of doubt move over you. Reject it and hold to this truth. Today and everything you face are not by chance. You are exactly where I knew you would be and doing what I planned for you. Take each step, handle each meeting, make each decision, and consider every request with full confidence in my plan, my love, and my joy in you. I Am your God.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Zephaniah 3:17
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
August 21
I will always be shaping you into greater refinement. As you follow, you will feel the pressure of my Spirit's hand against your will—sometimes heavy pressure. Yield to it. It is me keeping you out of trouble and making you more like my design for you. A long time ago, you asked to experience my power. You have, and you are, but there is still an issue that needs more shaping pressure—you hesitate when you cannot control the conditions. I will be working on that. You follow me.
Isaiah 64:8
And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.
Isaiah 45:9
What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’
August 22
It is I who enables you, and my sacrifice and resurrection confirm that fact. You have my promise of eternity to come and my promise of presence now. My Spirit within you is the guarantee. I have commissioned you for this task, and at every step, I have provided everything you need to accomplish it. Confess your need for cleansing and the holiness I demand. Stand as I carry it out—no hesitation, no excuses, no pretense. You are mine, and the stakes are high. Get up. Follow me.
2 Corinthians 1:20-22
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
August 23
I will continue to refine the equipment given to you so your character can reflect me as I intend. Just as a blade must be sharpened to stay effective, you must be cleaned and renewed with disciplines and qualities that must shine. Surrender yourself into my hands as I reshape self-indulgent patterns of thinking and acting that so easily cause you to drift out of position. You will experience discomfort in the unbending, but it will fade in the reality of peace and confidence that rise with my grace and presence.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Peter 1:5-8
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
August 24
This post is a departure from the normal Journey devotional message. It has to do with our city, its future, and the individual who will lead it.
A core concept of Christian thought is the discipline of actively pursuing God and seeking deliberate guidance from the Holy Spirit in a believer's daily life. Applying this vital concept to Christians in government, I look for signs of active Spirit-led influence in the chief government official. I have enjoyed watching my friend, Sandy Stimpson, embrace and practice this concept throughout his years of service as Mayor of Mobile.
On Tuesday, we will elect a new mayor. It is crucial for the welfare, direction, and effectiveness of our city that our next mayor understand and practice the discipline of Spirit-led government, actively and openly honoring God in words and actions, and committed to seeking God’s guidance in the role.
Of the four candidates, only one speaks openly of such things, Spiro Cheriogotis. It will be the key to his effectiveness. I urge your vote for Spiro as Mayor.
August 25
I know your hope for the city, for the people, and for their welfare. Stay in my presence, seeking me for these things, trusting by faith, praying continually, believing. I am at work, and I will promote those who honor my name. Those who neglect me will be placed aside. The humble will see it and be glad. Their hearts will revive and their faith will rise with hope for the future .
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Isaiah 62:6-7
O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls;
they will pray day and night, continually.
Take no rest, all you who pray to the LORD.
Give the LORD no rest until he completes his work,
until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.
Psalm 69:32
When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.
Personal Note: One candidate openly speaks of faith in Christ and dependence upon His leading, Judge Spiro Cheriogotis. I have expressed my hope for the future to the Lord and asked that He promote Spiro to lead our city in Spirit-directed government. That is my conviction. That is my prayer. That is my vote.
August 26
Ask me for the welfare of your city and trust me. I have revealed to you the evidence of my work through the years. It will continue. Do the work to which I appointed you. Remain in my presence and watch. Pray as I taught you. Trust my promise.
Luke 11:2-4
And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”
Isaiah 62:3-4
The LORD will hold you in his hand for all to see—a splendid crown in the hand of God.
Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.”
Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,”
for the LORD delights in you and will claim you as his bride.
August 27
What do you truly believe about me? Does your faith reach beyond any explanation except my direct intervention? It is a question I will leave with you, but your answer must be absolute and unconditional. If you have the courage to search your heart honestly, you will find the answer.
Matthew 8:3
Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.
August 28
My promises remain. My story continues. My work is evidenced. Come now, and invest your faith in me, not the processes of men. Confess the truth of my reality and power applied to my purpose. Invite my Spirit to fill you with the joy and peace of my presence as I establish faith upon faith in the doing of my will in and around you.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
August 29
Remain humble and surrendered as you seek to understand the full meaning of My Presence--of remaining in me and I in you. There you will experience my power—not to make you powerful in human terms, but to become a container of My power for my purpose in and through you. Take care not to measure my glory and power by the ease of human circumstance. Indeed, my flame is brighter when challenges abound, and I am your only resource. There is where you see me clearly. There is where human emotions are displaced by faith built upon faith. There is where you know that I AM.
Exodus 33:14
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Psalm 23:1-6
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
John 15:4-5
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
August 30
I offer closeness through an active relationship, like a loving father to a son—always present, always available, and always attentive to you. At the moment of your belief, I established the ultimate closeness: residing within you and connecting your spirit to mine. You see, it is not about coming to me, because I am always here. It is about paying attention to my presence and recognizing my grace—my everything for your benefit. Just like with Moses, an unbreakable intentional primary bond. There is nothing casual or passive about love for you. I am your God and your loving Father, and I am always here.
Exodus 33:11a
Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
August 31
What I have revealed to you about myself and my way is given to you with purpose and responsibility. My purpose and your duty is to follow me so closely with such submission and responsiveness that when others look for you, they see me; and when they look for me, they see you. You are my agent in action and the guardian of my revelation. I chose and appointed you to use the influence I provided, not to build yourself but to represent me well. It started, it continues, and it will end with you following me on my terms. So, stay close and keep your eyes on me.
John 14:26
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
John 15:16
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
July 2025
July 1
Stay here undistracted for a while. Watch the dawn with me. Be still and listen as I bring my words fresh to your mind. Recall our journey together. You being here right now is no accident or coincidence. It is part of my ongoing assignment. I have provided for you every step of the way and will continue to do so. Ease your mind and trust me. I will guide you through the day, the next, and the one after. In this way, you will be fully equipped and complete. I will never leave you.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
July 2
I understand your heart. You come believing and humbly confessing that you do not see how I am working in this situation, only that I am. I also see you watching with concern, sensing that our path leads into unknown territory. My question this morning is not about belief but about trust. Remember that I own everything—what is known to you and what remains unknown. Ask me for faith to trust beyond what you can control and watch how I work on the issues you have brought to me.
Psalm 37:3-5
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 9:10
And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
July 3
My purpose in the assignment I have given you is always guided by my Spirit. It is common in your culture to think that my way only applies to religious themes. But my interest extends to every part of life and work in all its forms. Seek me in every area of interest and responsibility. If you place a wrench on a bolt, I am there, guiding it. If you are planning a business activity, I am there to clarify it. If you are entering a negotiation, I am there with wisdom. If you weigh different opinions to solve a dilemma, I am there with confidence and direction. If you get lost in a mix of circumstances, I am there making a way through it. I am always with you, always in authority, always loving and caring, always leading, always showing you the way. Confess it as so and see how I work.
1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Philippians 2:13
For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
July 4
I understand your concern for your homeland's health, but my priority for you is to focus on my people there and their relationship with me. It is through my people that I will heal the nation if they follow me on my terms. I have sent many agents to do this work. You know only a few of them, and you sense that I am moving among them. I am refining my people. Pray for my expansion of what you are beginning to see happen.
Romans 1:21
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
Psalms 81:8-11
Listen to me, O my people, while I give you stern warnings. O Israel, if you would only listen to me! You must never have a foreign god; you must not bow down before a false god. For it was I, the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things. But no, my people wouldn’t listen. Israel did not want me around.
July 5
I have gifted you with insight and given you influence. They are tools placed in your hands to reveal my purpose to others. As steward of these tools, you are responsible for keeping them clean, sharp, and always ready for use. Your ability to maintain and operate them effectively, when and how I direct, reflects your closeness to me. Attempts to use my tools in a do-it-yourself manner are like trying to shake salt that has lost its salinity—you can shake with all your might and see no effect. But when you live in my presence and apply the salt in the fullness of my grace and guidance, the results will be astounding. Focus on me, not on your plans for salt-shaking.
Mark 9:50
Salt is good; but if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.
July 6
All that you are and all that you have are mine and subject to my use at my discretion. I have entrusted you as steward of my possessions. Occasionally, I will check to see if you have set aside any of my belongings in a private reserve out of my access. When that happens, I will lovingly and firmly confront you as a breach of my authority and a sign of broken covenant. You are my follower, and it is a full-time, all-in commitment. Always be aware that I do not do part-time, on-again, off-again deals.
Mark 10:21
Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
July 7
My Spirit draws you in these early moments, urging you to linger in my presence. Set aside the thoughts of what you must do and soak in the sweetness of my reality. Seek me in the stillness so you can start the day filled with wonder at my grace and love. Remember my many blessings. As they come to mind, thank me. Each one was a gift in its moment and remains so, even after all these years. Yes…seek me in the stillness. I will lead you through all that comes next.
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
July 8
I am teaching you to trust me. The things about which you seek guidance on are weighty, but they are not yours to fix. Keep them before me and accept my grace and love with faith that I am working in ways you cannot see. Humble yourself and stay in my presence. Confess my power and the certainty of my promises. When it is time for you to speak or act later today, I will make my purpose clear and give you the strength you need. For now, remain before me and trust.
Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
June 9
You wait impatiently for my restoration of the issue before me. You honestly desire that I be honored in the eyes of those in need. But there is a part of you that hopes to be vindicated personally because of your representation of me. Your pride is showing. Confess it and be careful never to wear my authority as a personal badge of honor. The assignment and gifts I entrust to you are for my purpose in others, in the timing of my choosing. Serve me content in that knowledge. Humble yourself before me. Represent me with integrity. Follow the gentle guidance of my Spirit as you wait in faith and trust.
Habakkuk 2:3
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
Lamentations 3:25-26
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Psalm 37:7
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
July 10
The task immediately before you seems uncertain. I have left it that way because I am aware of your attempts to look ahead of me and plan your actions. I will use you effectively in this matter, but you must learn to approach every task from a position near me...in my presence with your spirit-eyes and mind focused on me, not just the task. I will equip you with everything good to do my will, working in you what is pleasing in my sight. When the task is done, you and all involved will know that I have worked among you.
Hebrews 13:20-21
Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
July 11
We are nearing a turning point in our journey. Move closer to me so that you do not miss a step, as the trail will become less clear for a little while. Keep your attention on me and mirror my movement. You have no fear, for I am guarding you as I lead. I know your heart and your questions. I will leave them unanswered for a while so that your faith and trust may rise. Understanding will come soon enough. For now, focus on close following.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Psalm 27:8
You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
July 12
You are in position; take the step. I have already directed you to do so. I have equipped you so you can act effectively in this matter while remaining fully attentive to me. It is my Spirit connecting with yours—guiding, forming thought, shaping will, encouraging trust, building faith, imparting wisdom, giving confidence and peace, providing strength and courage, arranging resources. You see, I am right here, and I will never leave you. Now, take the step.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
July 13
I am building your confidence in my plan. Though it will remain a mystery in many ways, I require your intentional focus on me as essential to that plan. I will build confidence not by making circumstances easier but through the expansion of my Spirit and grace within the challenge of those circumstances. Start now, not by trying to figure out your path ahead, but by becoming still. Enter my presence through prayer, as I have taught you. Ask for my guidance. Feel my Spirit. Wait before me, yielded and quiet—like a child. I will respond, and you will know. That is where you will find peace and, in that peace, full confidence in me and my way. Follow me.
Colossians 2:2
…I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.
July 14
You asked how to find the right way in this matter—the specific steps necessary for making effective progress within the narrow and firm operational boundaries. Remember three things: First, get used to it. Effective maneuvering between old traditions and entrenched behavioral patterns is your assignment. Second, I will show you the way through this. I would not have placed you here otherwise. Third, and most importantly, do not let the narrow limits distract you. Shift your conscious focus from the walls to me right now. Keep your spirit-eyes on me and your spirit-ears tuned to my voice. I do not just show you the way; I am the way. Follow me—I know this narrow path very well.
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Psalms 25:10
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
July 15
I am here just as I promised. Do you not sense my Spirit stirring in you? Come seeking me in these early moments. You will find me. Know my peace and confidence. Allow my Spirit to tend the flame of courage and discovery in you. Bring to me the individuals and conditions that weigh upon you. Discern my instruction on their behalf. In these moments of searching, grasp my strength and shift your trust upon it. Prepare to enter the day, armored by my grace and enabled by my power. I am with you. I am in you. I am moving before you.
Psalm 71:5
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Psalm 39:7
And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
July 16
I will place you in several encounters today, each with a purpose. Focus your mind on me as you approach. Seek me in the moment, asking my attention to the other’s benefit, and experience how I open your thoughts to my Spirit’s intent. I will guide the words and direct your action accordingly. Thereby, you will participate with me in the expansion of my influence in that moment and the expansion of my culture beyond it--in those you engage and within yourself.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Acts 8:29
And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.”
Acts 10:19
And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
July 17
Keep this in mind as we move forward today. It is not the ease or difficulty of the path that measures my favor upon you, but the depth of wisdom and insight—the expanded and confident knowledge of myself and my way gained during the journey for which I watch and bless beyond your imagination. Your decision to trust me when you cannot see the way ahead is where I begin to build that confidence.
Ephesians 1:16-17
I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
July 18
This journey is far from over. There is much more to discover in the territory ahead. You are looking at the stone that just tripped you—lift your eyes to me and follow my gaze. Feel the strength of my arm as I lift you high to see. Experience the thrill of hope and the peace of confidence in my ability as my Spirit refreshes you. Trust me to remove fear and discouragement as I lead you forward. I am the Lord your God. I am your Source and Provision. And I am with you always.
Joshua 1:8-9
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
July 19
I hear your prayer for the protection of the people. Continue to seek me on this matter, trusting that I see and act in ways that are unlimited by time or circumstance. Pray for the fathers and mothers and watch as I bless and instruct them in my way. Pray for the leaders and see how I overshadow them with wisdom. Pray for the merchants and observe how I increase the fruit of their labor. Pray for the helpless, and witness how I provide. Pray for the angry and see how I still and quiet their voices. Pray for the city and watch as I show you the wonder of my unfailing love.
Psalm 31:19-21
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you? You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues. Praise the LORD, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love. He kept me safe when my city was under attack.
July 20
You are very quiet this morning, and I saw you stumble along the way. Your mind is distracted again, and your eyes are off me. It is the fear of not being able to control things. It is natural and easy to fall into. Trusting me seems unnatural, but I designed you with the ability to seek me. It is a choice you must make. There is much I will teach you, but I wait for you to choose to trust me... to intentionally turn your mind to me, to seek me. I will manage the matters of concern and show you a way through them. Make the choice, and lean on me. Remember... I know everything you need.
Matthew 6:31-34
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
July 21
Come closer, as I have instructed you. Stay here in my presence. You sense my call and know my promise. I am fully aware of your concerns and have already prepared a way. Come, let me show you. Trust in my reality and power. Confess your fears and doubts and experience the healing of your soul and the freshening of your mind. I am your refuge. I am your protection. I am your source in all things. Come and experience the peace found in my strength.
Psalm 62:5-7
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
July 22
The doing of your life—the active working out of the assignment I have given you—is fueled, guided, and empowered not by your will or skill but by the time you spend in my presence, sincerely seeking me, and experiencing the refreshing touch of my Spirit. It is in those moments that I clarify my expectations and your surrender to them. There is the early morning briefing where the details of close following are reviewed and where your obedient response is confirmed. There is where our communication system is tuned and prepared for active use throughout the day. There is where your effectiveness in the assignment is determined.
Psalm 27:4
The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.
Matthew 5:8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Psalm 119:17-18
Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word. Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
July 23
I have heard you, and your prayer is before me. I know the importance you have attached to it and your growing impatience. Do you think that I have abandoned my promise? Attend your faith. Remain humble and still in my presence. Be sure that you honor me by seeking my purpose rather than yours, and trusting that I am working in ways you cannot see. Remember my blessings as you seek the filling of my Spirit and wait patiently for me to act.
Habakkuk 2:1
I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says
and how he will answer my complaint.
Psalm 37:7
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.
Psalm 69:32
The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.
July 24
My power is limitless. My authority is everlasting. My love knows no bounds. My discipline remains steady. My instructions are straightforward. My majesty shines brightly. My designs are flawless. Come closer, confess these truths, and present your request. Let my Spirit guide the transformation of hope and need into understanding, confidence, and trust. Just as dawn dispels darkness, I will remove your doubt and hesitant faith. You will know my glory.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13
. . . And David said: “Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.”
July 25
You have experienced that, when you follow me as I intend, you are to the context in which I place you as salt is to the element into which it is introduced. That context cannot remain unaffected. Remember the qualification…you must follow me as I intend…close, attendant, submitted. I placed you in this assignment with purpose as I work in my time and in my way. You are the salt in form. I am the salt in essence. As you are yielded to me, I work in you and through you to achieve the salty effect that I intend. Take great care that this does not become a self-directed effort to satisfy your sense of religious duty. It is a lively, personal, and spiritual engagement that I initiate and lead moment-to-moment to the end I have chosen. Follow me, I will show you.
Matthew 5:13-16
You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
July 26
The journey and its challenges have strengthened your faith. Just as muscles grow firmer with strained use, so your confidence has solidified through faith, step by step. You know I am and that I keep the promise upon which you have placed your trust. The bridge to doubt and unbelief is burned by my grace through your faith. You have learned to trust when you cannot see or understand how. The path forward will be revealed with each step as you follow me. I am able. 2 Timothy 1:12
…for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
July 27
From your perspective, the path forward may seem narrow and easily blocked by uncertainty. Remember... nothing is unknown to me or beyond my power and purpose. What you are experiencing is change that I am guiding within you—refinement for the next stages of your assignment that have yet to be revealed. Shift your focus away from what that assignment might be and instead fix your attention on the refinement process. Uncertainty often brings with it fear of what I might ask of you. In time, your fear and control will be replaced by faith and great effectiveness in representing me. Follow closely. I will lead you safely through the refining process ahead.
Acts 4:28-30
But everything they did was determined beforehand according to your will. And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.
July 28
The way is difficult, and margins are narrow. Your precision in following me is crucial. But as circumstances buffet you, your ability to follow closely diminishes with each blow. Confess your need for my ability and strength. Ask me to lead you in my care. My provision will sustain you. My power will strengthen you. My ability will carve out the way forward. Believe it and turn into me. Power and might are mine, and I am able to do whatever I promise.
Romans 4: 20-21
Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
July 29
The assignment is weighty with requirements that exceed your ability. With that assignment, daily, I provide everything you need to accomplish it—wisdom, understanding, strength, knowledge, courage, discernment, resources—and I offer uninterrupted direct counsel on when and how to use each gift properly and effectively, My Spirit in you. I have never failed to provide, although you often fail to seek my counsel. That is the issue that causes your fear. When you try to exert your will in areas that require my authority and power, circumstances overwhelm you. It leaves you lost and frightened. Even so, I reach out and bring you back to my platform of confidence and peace. Break that cycle. Deny your pride and seek me now, before the day begins. I will lead you and provide all you need to fulfill my purpose.
Matthew 6:31-32
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
July 30
I know you wonder if you are heading in the right direction. Sometimes you feel despair, thinking you've lost your way or made a mistake in judgment by choosing this way. Be assured that you are on the path I assigned you, the one on which I have led you and am leading you now. But you looked away from me and stepped out of my light. So, yes, it is darker where you are standing. Come back close to me—you will see much better. Receive my courage and my hand. I have you. You are on the right track, and the goal is ahead of you. Hold on tight and stay in step with me.
Isaiah 41:13
For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, Do not be afraid. I am here to help you.
Deuteronomy 1:21
Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!
Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
June 2025
June 1
I delight in every detail of your life . . . every detail. Not only do I oversee the overall direction of your life, but I also design and guide each step you take. Though you may look away from me at times and stumble, I am holding your hand and will never let you fall. Look back along the path we have traveled. I never abandoned you. Yes, there were times you felt afraid and doubted, but you never lacked for daily needs. So, lean into me and step forward with confidence. I am your purpose, your plan, your resource, and your future.
Psalm 37:23-25
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.
John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
June 2
Be mindful of how you measure yourself, remembering that I and my way are your standard, your provision, and your satisfaction. At times, you have looked to those around you and concluded that my way is unfair or deprives you of what you deserve. As self-interest and pride fueled that thought, fear and anger rose to a point of distraction, effectiveness dwindled, and a sense of lostness overwhelmed you. All the while, I watched, my love and promise ready to be applied the moment you turned to me. It is an old cycle easily avoided through faith and trust. Yes, be mindful of how you measure. Delight in me. I will take care of the rest.
Psalm 1:2-3
But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
June 3
Demonstrate your dependence on me today. Allow my confidence to rise within you and know my peace. Live consciously in the reality of my protection as you carry out the responsibilities of this assignment. I will face the challenges on your behalf and guide the decisions that must be made. My Spirit is within you, guiding, revealing, discerning, encouraging, strengthening, and providing. Lean on me…I am holding you securely. There is nothing you will encounter today for which I do not already have an answer.
Psalm 63:6-8
I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.
June 4
I know when you seek me with singular intent and focus. It is pleasing to me. It is in such fidelity of heart that you experience the fullness of my Spirit rising in you. And, with that fullness, you realize the confidence and peace that I promise. Trust in my ability in both familiar and unfamiliar circumstances seems natural. You are aware that I am guiding your thought into greater effectiveness and opening ways to proceed that you had not known were available. It is how I guide you. Seek me and know my way. Follow me and experience it.
Psalms 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 16
I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
June 5
I have revealed the enemy’s strategies and limitations. Understand what I have shown you, but do not dwell on it. My authority and dominion exceed any power used to trip you. Confess that truth and focus your attention on me and the strength I provide. My Spirit within you is your protection, armor, faith, alertness, resistance, wisdom, direction, and effective response. Actively seek me. In doing so, you take up all my authority, security, and provision. Then, you will stand firm in the wind.
1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
June 6
Ask me. Keep asking me...not because I need reminding, but because you do. The stakes are high in this assignment, as is the resistance to my way. Expect adversarial tampering intended to distract you and undermine what has been gained in my name. Understand the source of spiritual tampering and resist it, not by seeking it out, but by intentionally seeking me. I am your source. You cannot handle this without me. Humbly remain in my presence, seek me intentionally in all things, and turn from sin that I reveal. I will hear your prayer. I will forgive your sin. And I will restore the territory of your assignment according to my purpose.
Matthew 7:7-8
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
June 7
I taught you about position and promise. It is easy to explain. The position exists in my presence through prayer. It is marked by humility and intentionality—a willful surrender of self-interest in favor of discovering my intent for you and turning away from what I indicate has no place in you. And the promise? My Spirit, I in you, enables your obedience and forms my character in you. I know you. I love you. I provide for you. I find you when you stray. I carry you when your strength fails. I expand you, leading you to places you cannot imagine, guiding you to the wonder of life with me now and into eternity.
1 Peter 3:15-16
… you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
June 8
Make forgiveness an active part of your life. I call you to a life marked by my style of love…unconditional and other-focused. Yet you embrace my direction on this point selectively, choosing to love some while refusing others and fostering enmity toward them as they do toward you. Even as I bring up this point of disobedience, their names come to mind. You hold unforgiveness between us, and it must be resolved. Like so many other things with which I have challenged you, this requires your surrendered decision to obey and your trust that I will guide you through it. At the very moment of surrender, my Spirit will rise to bring love and forgiveness to bear and to show you the actions needed to resolve broken relationships.
Matthew 5:23-24
So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
Matthew 6:14
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
June 9
Always remember that I know the honest desire of your heart. I placed it there with purpose, and I continue to provide for its fulfillment. Though it will take a lifetime to achieve, you experience it in phases of my design. Reflect back…you can recognize the phases. They are the seasons of your life. The current season clearly represents the theme, and, as in each before it, I fulfill you while refining you in preparation for the next phase. It is the life of a follower and will lead you to fully understand my glory upon its completion. It is the greatest gift you will ever know.
Psalm 90
1 Lord, through all the generations
you have been our home!
2 Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God.
14 Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
16 Let us, your servants, see you work again;
let our children see your glory.
17 And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful!
June 10
Take care. It is easy to seek the favor of society and government to support religious practices, relying on that favor more than on my own. My people, taught by successive generations to seek comfort and depend on government, have largely forgotten how to follow me on my terms. They look for solutions to spiritual issues in self-determined processes and stale religious systems. My people must learn about me in a new way. Seek me for Spirit-led government. Watch as I bring freshness to a young generation and assign new tasks to challenge and encourage them. And follow me closely as I break up hard-packed ground for new planting in the expansion of my Kingdom.
Isaiah 25:9
In that day the people will proclaim, “This is our God! We trusted in him, and he saved us! This is the Lord, in whom we trusted. Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!”
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
June 11
Remember that it is I working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases me. I am bringing you from old misunderstandings of my way, in which you viewed pleasing me as an impossible cycle of performance and reward, often punctuated by failure and shame. I do not send you out to act; I lead you to act. Follow me closely. Therein is experienced not only great joy but also great accomplishment and wonder. Learn to rest upon my strength, my knowledge, my ability, and enjoy this journey.
Philippians 2:13
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
June 12
I am your constant source. Your needs have always been met; they always will be. When you needed rest, I provided it. When you could not find peace, I wrapped you in it. When physical and emotional resources were stretched to the end, I refreshed you. When your confidence was shaken, I fortified it with clear direction. Rest in all this, knowing that I love you more than you can comprehend. Yes…I am your Source and your God, and I will never leave you.
Psalm 23:1-3
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Psalm 138:1-3
I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
June 13
Examine your emotions. National distractions abound, and your views on the rightness of one position over another pull you from your primary responsibility. Turn away from the news reports and seek my guidance on these matters, not for my endorsement, but for my forgiveness, protection, grace, and instruction. Humble yourself and remain under my influence as you pray for decision-makers on both sides of the civil conflict to submit to my authority. Have I not already instructed you? This is fundamentally a spiritual issue and must be approached with Spirit-directed actions.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
Psalm 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
June 14
I have instructed the community of my followers to turn away from their preferred distractions and humbly remain in my presence, seeking me about the issues related to their respective assignments. Invite me to examine you in light of this instruction and to guide you back into a state of surrendered compliance. My promise remains . . . I hear your prayer. I forgive your sin. And I restore the realm of your assigned influence according to my purpose. There are no persons, no issues, no powers that are beyond the reach and authority of my promise.
Psalm 91:9-10
If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
June 15
Look above the turmoil in the news reports and seek me. You know the evil source of the trouble, and no amount of human reasoning or political action can touch it. My authority, however, extends to the core of all events and concepts, even those claimed by the enemy. The time will come when I end his power. For now, I wait for my people to honestly trust me during the trouble and for others to turn to me. You live in the interim under the protection of my promise, and my promise will not fail. Follow me as I taught you long ago. Pray for those in civil authority. Trust me. Expect me. Act as I direct.
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
June 16
I will guide you through the decisions you face. Decide now to trust me. From that point of trust and dependence will rise faith, clarity, purpose, intentionality, wisdom, insight, and courage…all grace gifts endowed to you. Remain in my presence by prayer and follow the prompting that my Spirit reveals to you. I have already cleared the way. It is yours to discover as I lead.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
June 17
The influence that I urge upon you is me, my Holy Spirit, present and active in and through you into the culture you step each day of this journey. As salt flavors and preserves, and as light illuminates, so I flavor, preserve, and illuminate you and radiate through you to people I lead you to engage. Remember, this influence is not something you exercise to impress me, it is something I do as you follow me on my terms...close, personal, and submitted to me and my way. Enter the day conscious of my presence and watch my influence at work flowing naturally from you.
Matthew 5:13-15
You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.
John 15:5
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
June 18
I am aware of your request and have impressed upon you the need to align your will to mine. Remain in my presence, surrendered, honestly seeking my intent. Sense the softening of your will as you confess my authority in the matter. Prepare now to act in obedient response to my clear direction.
Psalm 25:4-5
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
Romans 11:33-34
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?”
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
June 19
Seek me intently on this matter. Remain in my presence and push aside every distraction that you may discover and understand my instruction. I require a level of intensity that is unusual for you. Linger with me this morning as I lead your thought and guide your intercession. You know that I have purpose and have already established its fulfillment. This morning’s process is for you…to teach you and to encourage you. Remain and watch with me.
John 17:23
I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
June 20
I listen to your cry for the people. Continue to lift it. For it is a clear indication of your recognition of the need for me... a need that can be met only in my presence. I have given you discernment. What you see and hear are indications that the people avoid me. It is a spiritual problem that will require a spiritual solution. It is not too late. I await the humble, repentant, obedient cry of my followers and will respond as I have promised from long ago. Let praise flow from your lips, for I have taught you my commands and my promises. I listen for the cry.
Psalm 119:169-173
O Lord, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised. Listen to my prayer;
rescue me as you promised. Let praise flow from my lips, for you have taught me your decrees. Let my tongue sing about your word, for all your commands are right. Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments.
June 21
You may not have the answers to the problems others bring to you, but I do. Lead them to me. You know how to follow... how to enter my presence and wait there, near enough to touch me... your spirit seeking mine. That is why I led you through the steep and rough places... so you would learn to fully depend on my strength, not yours. I have given you influence and favor. Use it to bring the people to me.
Mark 6:56
Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.
June 22
I have set aside the day for you to listen to me. As you pass the time, keep your thoughts focused on me. Ask me about the things you hear and see. From the dawning to the setting, even while you engage in necessary activities, seek me. I will provide you with the understanding needed for what lies ahead. Expect me today. Trust me.
Psalm 5:1-3
O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God,
for I pray to no one but you. Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
June 23
I have brought to your mind one who is lost and wandering. That one needs me, yet there are within him deep sin-carved wounds for which, in the darkness of his existence, he holds me responsible. My Spirit is touching him, yet he does not know what to do. His sense of lostness overwhelms him. You will be his guide. I will give you the opportunity and the words to lead him to me as I lead you. Listen attentively and follow me closely. Much is at stake.
Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Luke 15:4
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?
June 24
You wondered if I really mean "everything" when I instructed you to thank me. Yes, everything...those experiences that are most difficult included. Your thankfulness for things beyond your ability to control defines the roles in our relationship. I am God of all that is...creator, sustainer, provider, leader, director. You are creation, beneficiary, and follower. I know it is difficult to do, because thanking me implies submission. Just start thanksgiving with things that are easier to talk about. I will help you as you go. You will be surprised at what happens.
Ephesians 5:20
And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
June 25
You neglect prayer as I intend it. It is the most powerful tool I have placed at your disposal, yet you have only occasionally experienced its full potential. I find your prayer to be more happenstance than intentional. Prayer is the passage through which you come into my presence. I rush to meet you there and guide your closing with me. The closer you come, the more I open your mind to people and issues for which you are to intercede. I clarify and direct your next steps in the current assignment. I fill you with myself...my love, my peace, my thought, my wisdom, my insight. The experience of prayer as I intend it is you joining me in my worldwide work. All this requires time...dedicated time without distractions. You are to follow closely, and prayer is the means to that closeness.
Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
June 26
The decision before you seems complicated because you do not know the end result to which I am leading you. Consequently, you are playing out scenarios that are running together into a growing ball of doubt. You know of my love, and you have professed faith in me. Now, lean your faith upon me with confidence and see if I am not able to lead, protect, and provide.
1 Thessalonians 5:8
But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.
June 27
Always remember that we are on a journey along a trail that I have chosen and upon which I have placed you with purpose. It has a past. It has a present. And, most importantly, it has a future. I used the past to prepare you for what you are experiencing now, and I am using the current events, relationships, responsibilities, delights, and challenges to equip you for that which lies ahead. My way of making you right with me and of gaining dependence upon me is to place you in present situations that are beyond your control . . . situations that require you to invest in me greater levels of trust and faith than have been required so far. Thus, your faith has grown and will be applied as we move forward. So, let go of the past; look up from the present, and focus upon that future toward which I am leading you.
Philippians 3:12-14
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
June 29
You have been rehearsing the seemingly impossible parts of the journey, turning them over in your mind again and again. Your heavy-hearted cry of 'How?' reaches me, and I respond with a question of my own... 'Do you trust me?' You answer, 'Yes,' more out of conviction than confidence. I value your conviction and want to build your confidence. Today, I will help you understand some things that can encourage you even in situations that seem impossible. Stay close, and watch as we walk together.
2 Kings 6:15-17
When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.
“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!”
Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!”
The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
June 30
I see you are remembering. You are recalling the reality of my promise to keep you safe amid difficulty...the fact of my intervention in past matters of your life, my provision, my guidance...mountains that were moved...impossibilities that became possible. Good. That memory is a very valuable gift to you. My ability is not weakened, nor is my will softened toward you, as if I have become unable to protect and guide you. Remember where we have been. Take courage. Come close and follow. I am the Lord, your God.
Isaiah 43:2-3
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
May 2025
May 1
Yes, I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us. I exchanged my earthly form for a spiritual one for this very purpose. Upon your confession of belief, I made my residence in you. My Spirit engages with your human spirit, your mind, your will -- your heart. It is a mystery you have come to know as true but cannot fully explain. It is a phenomenon of my doing, a gift of grace as an expression of my love. And it is yours to accept by faith. It is how I am present with you and why nothing can separate us. Thus, my presence is the surety of your hope for each moment of our journey now and for my promise of heaven to come.
John 14:16-17
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
Romans 8:38-39
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
May 2
You must contend for the purpose that I have already committed to you. The enemy makes false claims upon you and will not cede willingly. Expect fierce resistance. But I am ahead of you in this battle, leading you to engage with my authority and promise. Always remember that I am greater than the enemy you face, and I will never fail you or abandon you. So be strong and courageous as you deal with the resistance thrown against you. You have already won.
Joshua 1:3, 5-6
I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you—
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.
May 3
I know that you honestly desire the full measure of my benefit, and I favor that in you. I also know that your faith, while growing, remains frail and easily challenged by the circumstances of the assignment at hand. The tension in you is between the reality of needs for which you are responsible and your inability to identify adequate resources to meet them. That tension is my tool in your life, for you must learn that I am the resource for those needs, not you or your ability. Close to me. Ask me. Depend upon me. Focus upon me. I will not fail you. I will show how.
James 1:5-6
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
May 4
I want you to rest today. Really...just rest. It is important. I need to mend some things in you, and I need you to be out of gear to do it. So...rest today.
Mark 6:31
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.
Ecclesiastes 3:7
A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
Psalms 23:2-3
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
May 5
Your mind is still this morning. It is good; it is my peace in you just as I promised. Many things will swirl around you today: needs, expectations of others, your own desires, each pulling at you for a solution. But keep your mind upon me. I am your peace. I am your shelter. I am the source of each solution-thought and the provision of each resource to meet the needs. I am your guide in the storm of issues. I am the victory you seek. Wait quietly close to me.
Psalms 62:1-2
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.
May 6
Many things draw your mind, each requiring a decision. It is easy to relax your diligence and fall into old, ineffective patterns of dealing with such things. In your relaxed condition, with your guard down, you are a prime target for the enemy’s ploy… depend upon yourself, prove your worth, feed your emotions, command, and control. But I have taught you a more effective way. Stand up in my strength. Put on the armor that I custom-designed for you. Breathe deeply of my Spirit. Confess my presence and authority over each decision. Ask for and discern my good, acceptable, and perfect direction in the matter at hand. You will find the effectiveness of my promise.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
May 7
I planted my purpose in you long ago. Its themes run consistently in your mind and are revealed in the desires that guide your application of time and talent. It is I in you leading into assignments and creating influence. Think back upon our journey… do you not see those strains exposed along the way? You once thought that telling my story was confined to one profession and a narrow field. But I have shown you that I use my followers in all professions in an unlimited scope of endeavor that timelessly links one generation to another. Thereby, my story is told and my purpose fulfilled. Delight in it and follow the desires of your heart. Experience my favor. You are my agent where you stand, and I am with you always.
Psalm 37: 4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
May 8
I have given you the skills and insight to further my purpose. Take care to use those gifts properly…never for your own interests. You are responsible first to me and, by my strength, for others, even to the extent of sacrificing your interests in favor of another’s well-being. Represent me with genuine affection for another of faith and take delight in honoring that person. In doing so, you will learn what is good, pleasing, and perfect in my eyes.
Romans 12:2-3, 9-10
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
May 9
Honor me with humility. The new nature I create and empower in you seeks to affirm the value and interests of others above your own. It is an extreme function of other-centric love that requires your dependence upon my authority, exercised through the power of my Spirit within you. Your obedience through dependence is key to your significance. Your worth is directly linked to my opinion of you… unlimited love and favor. Relax into my endorsement of you.
Philippians 2:3-4
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
May 10
I love you more than you can imagine. I transcend everything between us to focus the entirety of my love upon you. With my love comes the magnitude of my purpose in and through you, the fullness of my grace, and the reality of my moment-to-moment presence. You know all that, but I want you to trust it. You live in me and I in you. As you consider the future, there need be no anxiousness, for I own the future. Think of it this way: as I lead you in this journey, I am ushering the one I love into the wonder of the future I own, provisioned by resources that I own. Follow me closely and trust the wonder of my love.
1 John 4:16
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
1 John 4:18
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
May 11
Differentiate between purpose and mission. Purpose is the “why” of your life. Mission is what you do to enact that purpose—the specific application of assets in a place and time driven by purpose. Throughout our journey, I have been clear about your purpose: influence people with my story and promise. I have also assigned your mission, adapting it along the way to changes in my plan for you. At each of those turning points, you have paused, unsure how the purpose would be effectively conducted. Yet I assured you, and you followed me forward, discovering anew that I am able beyond imagination to provision my purpose. Trust me again today as you live out your purpose with every thought, word, and action.
Matthew 5:13-14
You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
May 12
I am teaching you to lead through surrender...surrender of your will to mine. Only at the point of your surrendered emptying can I fill you with my characteristics. To that point, I see that you cling to what you identify as the right to choose whom you will and will not love and the conditions under which you will extend your love. I challenge you with two realities. First, that is not love...it is self-centered pride. Second, your withholding interrupts our relationship and my favor. Let it go. Follow me as I have taught you. I will show you how to love my way.
Romans 13:9-10
For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
May 13
You ask when I will act in this matter. Examine why you ask. Is it to see my purpose fulfilled, or is it to serve your interests? Your pride has risen into my work, and there is no place for it there. Confess that truth and invite me to turn you back fully to my purpose. Return to the position I taught you long ago... humbly remaining in my presence seeking me for my design and outcome. There you will again find trust by faith that I am already at work in the matter you present, according to my glory and intent.
Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 119:123-125, 145-148
My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled. I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees. Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.
I pray with all my heart; answer me, LORD! I will obey your decrees. I cry out to you; rescue me, that I may obey your laws. I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words. I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.
May 14
I am. I am here. And I have this. The truth of that realization must remain primary, regardless of any circumstance. Margins of resource will expand or recede in the conduct of your assignment, but by my grace, they will always be sufficient to support my will in any matter. Your responsibility is to remain so close to me that my will and your thoughts are one. Thereby, my confidence and peace will flood your being. And you will know without doubt that the Lord of Heaven’s armies is with you. No challenge can prevail, no problem is unsolved, no doubt can shadow. I am. I am here. And I have this.
Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 46:4-7
A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.
May 15
I have made you aware of a matter of spiritual tampering in the life of another. In this instance, I will not allow you to be directly involved. Others will be. Your role is position and prayer. Come into my presence specifically for this purpose. Intently seek me on behalf of those under attack. Remain so, keenly attuned to my Spirit’s leading, until I release you from this assignment. I am at work there, and I want you to experience it from this perspective as I teach you freshly the mystery and power of prayer.
Romans 8:26-28
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
1 Kings 18:37
O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.
May 16
Will you trust me with this? You are withholding full investment of faith and trust against a shadow of doubt that I will not perform as you wish or in the time you desire. We must address it now before the day begins. The shadow and hold, though slight, stand between us. Confess it and receive my forgiveness. In these moments, invite me to cleanse you of any residue and warm your faith. Recall my actions in other matters. You know I am at work. Humble yourself and acknowledge my authority and power in all things, particularly this one. Be filled with my Spirit and receive my strength as I reestablish your full faith and trust. I will clear the way forward and guide you in it.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
May 17
Confess my authority over you. Agree with me that I hold title to you, all within your claim, and all beyond it. Confess my purpose in the use of all under my authority. Grasp the truth of my provision and enabling of my purpose worked out in and through you. Thank me for deepening your belief and stretching your character and faith through the strain and pain of growth. Celebrate the reality of my Presence and the truth of my Promise. I Am, and that is enough.
Psalm 59:17
O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.
2 Peter 1:3
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
May 18
Complexity and resistance are expected in this assignment. Although issues may seem impenetrable, I am already guiding the resolution. It will be experienced in the hearts of opinion leaders and decision makers. Stay in my presence, honestly interceding with me for the welfare and wisdom of each of these influencers…those with whom you agree and those with whom you disagree…as I lead you thought by thought to my desired end.
Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.
Luke 1:37
For the word of God will never fail.
Jeremiah 32:17
O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!
May 19
My love is constant and unfailing. It does not ebb and flow with circumstance. There is nothing you can do that will cause me to love you more, nor is there anything you have done or will do that will cause me to love you less. As I have led you, so I am leading at this moment and at each moment to come. Give no thought to the “what ifs” of what may come in the day, the week, or the year. For my constancy is your sail and the wind that fills it; it is your map, your compass, your ballast, your rudder, and your provision. Trust in my unfailing love in the morning and my faithfulness in the evening. Give thanks and proclaim it. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
Psalm 92:1-2
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening…
May 20
You have everything you need for this day and my assigned use of it. Enter it with confidence, knowing I am with you and before you clearing the way for each next step, each encounter, each transaction, each pleasantry, and each challenge. Confess the reality of my promise and my power to lead you in it, adjusting you in conformation to it as you go. Enjoy the peace and surety of my favor as you go in my presence.
Psalm 5:12
For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
May 21
Nothing is beyond my reach and attention. Hold on to this fact. Confess it. I am aware and able. Ask me for wisdom and understanding. Expect it as I move in and through the intricate issues of the matter at hand. Experience my love even in what seems most unlovely or unlikely. You believed long ago and have grown as I gently revealed more of my way, though it is too great to fully understand. Now you stand in faith, knowing and hoping but not yet seeing. Nevertheless, I Am, and I have this.
Ephesians 3:18-20
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
May 22
I am fully aware of the matter and am already at work. Seek me and discover what I am doing. I will lead you in it by my Spirit, establishing wisdom and opening your mind to exactly how you are to respond. You will experience my guidance as the natural occurrence of clear thought. Act upon it in faith and confidence as I arrange, open, close, and produce my way forward. I have this.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13
And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
May 23
I heard your prayer, and I am answering. Even as you spoke in the meeting, you became aware that the experience of that moment was part of my answer to the petition that I planted in you months ago. Be affirmed in this... I am working out my purpose in and around you. Do not neglect intentional, purposeful prayer. It is the conduit into my presence, the means by which I involve you in my work, and the essence of following me as I have taught you. There is so much more that you will experience in our journey. Come close, and follow me.
Psalms 116:1-2
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
May 24
I have intentionally guided you into the mystery of prayer. My purpose has led you into an area where you have little experience, and your awareness of personal limitations is heightened. You know that I am your source of understanding and wisdom. You also recognize that prayer is the pathway through which you enter and remain in my presence. The mystery of prayer is linked to your personal surrender to me. For you cannot pray without complete dependence, humility, and surrender. Otherwise, you are merely thinking about me. Prayer is a holy communion with me on my terms. It arises from belief, flows through hope, is strengthened by faith, and is maintained through intentional surrender. It is enabled and guided by my Spirit within you, merging your will and mind with my purpose. In this lies the experience of my favor and power.
Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
May 25
Your tendency is to highlight some aspect of personal performance in hopes of impressing me and gaining favor, as is common in the world. However, it is not so with me. I choose to engage with you at the point of your sincere desire to be with me. I look for yielding and humility as you seek me, for I favor and bless your emptiness and weakness. In that, I find your willingness to follow me wherever I intend to lead. That is the moment when my Spirit expands within you, guiding your prayerful inquiry of me. It is in those moments that I know I can trust you. At that point of trust, I provide the means to fulfill the daily requirements of my assignment… courage, faith, strength, boldness, innovative thoughts, and influence. Your surrender is the key to the success for which you hope.
Romans 8:26-27
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
May 26
I will give you the right words and the right way to express them. The means of communication with which I have prepared you is effective, but the style of expression requires adjustment in tis context. I will show you what I desire. Empty yourself, ask me, and remain attentive to my leading. I will guide you to the exact words and to the exact form through which they must be presented, for I intend to expand my influence among the people.
Ephesians 6:19
And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.
May 27
I have drawn you to think more carefully about seeking me. It is a matter of awareness, intent, and frequency. My Spirit resides in you, and I am constantly present. The question is you being present with me. Stop now and interrupt the swirl of thoughts that have already begun. Turn your attention to me. I will help you. Allow me to bring a phrase of my promise to your mind. Dwell upon it for a few seconds. Ask me how it will apply to your responsibilities in the day. I will answer in a thought formed by my Spirit. Resolve to act on it. Thereby, you will have sought me in the moment. Remain in my presence and seek me continually.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
Psalm 27:8
You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
May 28
Trust my Spirit to guide your prayer. I am fully aware of every need and desire that weighs on your mind. This mystery of prayer is the conduit into my presence and the way I choose to involve you in my work. You need not try to construct it or manage it. Simply ask by the humble lifting of thought to me. Remain in my presence. Agree with what I reveal. Act upon my direction. It is all under the power of my Spirit working in and through you for the accomplishment of my will.
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
May 29
It seems complicated from your perspective. You are unable to see past your interpretation of the circumstances. But my sight is unhindered by patterns of history, discouragement, limited time or provision. I own the future. Lean upon me. Trust my unlimitedness and grace. Confess your belief in my ability to lead you through this matter. Speak your confessional agreement with my authority and promise. Did I not assign you? Have I not equipped you? Have I not provided for you? Shift your trust again this morning and start the day.
Psalm 37:3-5
Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
May 30
Our journey led you through several important open gates yesterday. None were coincidences. I opened each. Have you noticed that the way opened after you fully surrendered each matter to my authority? Remember it. My way always requires full faith and trust. And I am always faithful to my promise. Confess the follower’s truth once again this morning….I Am.
Psalm 18:30
This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
May 31
I must teach you a way to lead by truly serving others. It is not the command and control style that you observed among the heroes of your youth, and it requires that you empower, trust, and honestly listen to those around you. If you are to reflect me and my way, you must truly love and serve those whom you wish to lead. In order to do that, you must follow me closely, submitting to my way, and trust that the objectives I set before you will be achieved my way, in my time, and through my culture. Listen carefully, and trust me as I lead you to become an effective leader.
Mark 10:42-45
So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."
April 2025
April 1
Proceed to your responsibility. I have already prepared the way you will travel today. Hold to the fact of my Spirit in and around you. That is the frame through which you will interpret each encounter of the day. Remain in the reality of my presence and watch me work.
1 Samuel 16:13
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward…
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Acts 2:25-28
For David says concerning him, “‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
April 2
I am at work, though you do not yet see the results. In time, you will. Give thanks now for the reality of the faith and belief I am building in you. My love and faithfulness have no boundaries, and my Name is the assurance of my promises. Place your full dependence on me by faith and experience my encouragement and strength now. You will celebrate my completed work in a little while.
April 3
I have established peace within you. The stress-fog has lifted, and your mind is free to explore me and the ideas I am placing in you. Ask me about these thoughts, and let me expand on them for the applications I have introduced to you. I am doing something new within you for the expansion of my influence among people. Attend to it carefully and only in my presence.
Hosea 14:9
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble in them.
April 4
I am teaching you things that many have learned before you. The idea of following me so closely that it seems we are permanently linked together is not new. The first of my men to record his personal experiences with such things was David. There is much to learn from what he wrote. Just as I was always with him, I am with you now...so close that full dependence on me becomes the natural way of living. Rely on me today. Experience the benefits of placing your complete trust in me.
Acts 2:25-26
King David said this about him: ‘I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.
April 5
Seek me diligently. Today will require more listening than doing. I am teaching you my way in a complex matter. Be careful not to speculate or borrow trouble from conjecture. Remain with me even as you tend to your responsibilities. Honor me with your attention. Confess what I reveal, repenting as necessary and agreeing in discovery. Consider what I show you with gratitude for the opportunity to see it. I love you, and I am leading you. Trust me.
Psalm 86:11-13
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God.
I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great.
You have rescued me from the depths of death.
April 6
You are distracted. You have been thinking about what may lie ahead on this road and considering the environment portrayed by those who report the news. You are correct that these matters are complicated. However, this is my road. I know it well and understand how to navigate the dangers. Beyond that, I am greater than any challenges that may arise. There is nothing ahead that will surprise me or is beyond my control. I have not left you alone. I am here, and I am in charge. So, come closer and ask.
Psalms 27:7-8
Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
Psalms 145:17-19
The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.
April 7
Continue to seek me concerning your nation, those of its people who honor me, and those I have appointed to govern it. Use the gift of prayer to enter my presence. Petition me for forgiveness, protection, and restoration. Acknowledge the arrogance of pride and the waywardness of self-indulgence among the people who call themselves by my name. Turn away from it and embrace my discipline. My correction is painful, like a bone once broken and improperly set that now must be re-broken and realigned. Humble yourself and pray. Seek Me, not ease. Seek Me, not the government. Seek Me and watch. Trust me.
Exodus
13:21-22
The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.
14:10-12
As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the LORD, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’ ”
14:13-14
But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
April 8
It is easy to sing a victory song after the battle. I am teaching you faith so you can sing it in the fight. A time will come when you will sing it before a battle even begins. I am your salvation and your strength, and I will never fail you. Your hope cannot rest in your ability, though I will use it. It cannot rely on your plan, though I will shape it. It cannot depend on circumstances, though I will create them. Your hope must be in me. It is a decision of faith. Trust me.
14:13-14
But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
Exodus 15:2
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!
Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
April 9
Through faith, you believe I Am, and my grace – my wherewithal, my sufficiency, my strength, my love – is always available to you, regardless of the issue or the time. Nothing you have done will negate it, and nothing you might do will earn it. Because I Am and have forgiven you, you may enter my presence. You are my dearly loved child, and you need not even knock. There, you will find everything you need to survive and thrive. I understand your needs and weaknesses. Come and enjoy my strength and capability.
Hebrews 4:14-16
So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
April 10
I am your hope for this day in which you will live and work. I am also your hope for eternal life with me when this temporary experience comes to an end. Because you believe and trust that I own and guard both this experience and the next, death holds no power. It is merely a portal through which you enter something so wonderful that it cannot be adequately described in human language -- my glory. Through prayer and the work of my Spirit, you may rest in my presence now and know my grace. Later, those gifts become unnecessary. You will see me face to face. Here is my promise and your hope: you will live fully in my presence forever, all by my love and grace, now and then.
Romans 5:2
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Psalm 25:5
Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
April 11
Come find me. I am here, just outside your next thought. I never left you, but you were distracted and lost sight of me. Turn to me and delight in my presence and peace. That sense of lostness will evaporate in my warmth and light. Soak in my power and glory and be satisfied. Allow praise to rise in you and know the satisfaction of my promise and joy.
Psalm 63:1-5
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.
April 12
You have faced decisions as we move forward. You have learned that as you grow closer to me, values reorder in importance. Some, once tightly held, I have led you to discard. That which once defined both your private self and your public identity has transformed. It is my refining process at work. However, more is required. It is crucial that those seeking you find me, and the internal and external shaping necessary to produce that result must continue. This will happen naturally as you continue to journey with me. It is time again to release your grip from something no longer needed. You will sense my urging and receive my grace through it all.
Philippians 3:7-8
I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.
Mark 1:18
And they left their nets at once and followed him.
April 13 Palm Sunday
I entered my city that morning fully aware that each hour leading up to the moment of my sacrifice was a final opportunity to prepare the men for their assignment. Passover pilgrims pressed around us, hoping for a look, a touch, a word. Such need. There are those all around you in need of me and my provision. Some hunger and thirst. Some are lonely and in need. Some are sick. Others stand outside looking in and long for a caring moment. There is no shortage of need, whether physical or spiritual. You carry my name and are known to represent me. Do so. I have led you precisely where I intend. Become my voice, my hands, my smile, my touch. Follow me into the work. Do exactly as I direct, when I direct it. You will be amazed at the result.
Matthew 25:35-40
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.
Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
April 13
It is my devotional practice in the week leading to Easter Sunday, to walk through the week with Jesus. I invite you to walk with us.
As I entered Jerusalem on that Monday, I noticed a fruit tree that bore no fruit. I caused it to wither and die as a lesson to my men and to you, demonstrating that I expect there always to be fruit in the representation of me. A fruit tree without fruit is mere pretense. So it is with one who claims to be my follower yet does not obey my direction. It is not my intent that you undertake obedience in your own strength. You will fail. I constantly teach you to rely on me to empower obedience through the investment of faith and confidence in my ability- even when faced with what seems impossible. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.
Matthew 21:18-22
In the morning, as Jesus was returning to Jerusalem, he was hungry, and he noticed a fig tree beside the road. He went over to see if there were any figs, but there were only leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” And immediately the fig tree withered up.
The disciples were amazed when they saw this and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”
Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”
April 15
On Tuesday and Wednesday of that week, despite being constantly harassed by agents of the religious leaders who wished to take my life, I used every opportunity to teach the men to whom I would entrust the expansion of my story among generations. Everything I taught them and you is rooted in a singular decision to love me with all of your being. You must renew this determination each day, sometimes multiple times throughout the day. Remember how you would carry your young son, as you moved, he would tighten his grip around your neck. In response, you would squeeze him to reassure him of your strength and his safety in your arms. Similarly, I ask you to wrap your arms around me, fully confident that I can fulfill all I have promised. Your unreserved love for me, commitment to me, and dependence on me are clearly communicated through the tightening of your embrace. Likewise, my reassurance that I hold you firmly is conveyed by my Spirit as you absorb the meaning of these words.
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.
April 16
On Wednesday of that last week, as I taught the people gathered at the temple, I watched wealthy individuals drop their gifts into the collection box. An older woman I recognized as widowed and poor came forward and put in two small coins. I was moved because, while the rich gave sparingly from their surplus, the poor woman gave abundantly from her little- everything she had. That is my point to you today. I created you. I nurtured you. I redeemed you from sin and death. I appointed you. I provide for you. I guide you. I encourage you. I protect you. You are rich by my grace. With that provision comes responsibility. That poor woman is your example. I expect you to surrender the title and control of all that you have and are into my hands for my purpose. It is a challenge of trust for you. Nevertheless, I wait.
Luke 21:1-4
While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins.
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.”
April 17
Thursday evening was Passover. It was the most significant night of my earthly life…a night of last things. The religious leaders had resolved to take my life and were simply waiting for the right moment. It would come late that night. I spent part of the day with friends in the Bethany neighborhood, just outside Jerusalem. While we were there, two individuals acted: one to honor me and one to betray me. Each was among those closest to me. Examine their stories closely, for you are not terribly unlike either of them. In fact, today, you will choose to honor or betray our relationship through your obedience or disobedience. Prepare now for the moment of choice that will come. Position yourself near me and lean into my strength. Keep your spiritual eyes fixed on me. I will successfully carry you through this moment.
Matthew 26:6-7 Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
Matthew 26:14-15
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests and asked, “How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver.
April 18
On Friday, the religious leaders got what they wanted. I was arrested, brutally beaten, ridiculed, nailed to a cross, died, and was buried. At any moment during that ordeal, I could have simply called for the angels of heaven, and they would have rescued me. Yet, I endured it for you. Sin can only be eliminated by death. On Friday, I took your place. You, once a prisoner of sin, are free from my judgment and from enslavement to sin because of my sacrificial death. On Friday, in an exercise of unimaginable love and grace, I…your Creator, the Master and Commander of all eternity…purchased your freedom. On Friday, with my shed blood and expended life, I paid the price of your sin. Always remember Friday. But it was only Friday, and the story was not yet over.
John 18:12
So the soldiers, their commanding officer, and the Temple guards arrested Jesus and tied him up.
John 18:22
Then one of the Temple guards standing nearby slapped Jesus across the face.
John 19:1
Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip.
John 19:17-18
Carrying the cross by himself, he went to the place called Place of the Skull (in Hebrew, Golgotha). There they nailed him to the cross.
John 19:34
One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear…
John 19:42
…the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
Ephesians 1:7
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
April 19
Saturday…it was a day of deep grief and struggle with unbelief. Though I told my followers what to expect, they had become fixed on their design for the next part of our journey. On that Saturday, they had no frame into which my death and absence could fit. Grief, confusion, and incomprehension flooded their minds. Their immediate reality was that I was gone; the story had ended; hope was shredded; light was extinguished. Saturdays can be crushingly dark. Yet, Saturday is but one day passing, and it can be endured. I did not leave them, and I will never leave you. Yes…Saturday, while dark, is but one day passing. Sunday is coming.
John 16:19
Jesus realized they wanted to ask him about it, so he said, “Are you asking yourselves what I meant? I said in a little while you won’t see me, but a little while after that you will see me again. I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.
Lamentations 5:21
Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had. Or have you utterly rejected us?
April 20
I am alive and present with you. That is the message of Sunday. That is the message of the ages. By the power of my resurrection, I defeated death, broke the chains of sin, and claimed you based on your confession of who I am and your belief in what I did. You need never fear or doubt. My promise is secure. The hope of heaven at the end of our journey is real. Between now and then, I am right beside you. Follow me, surrounded by Sunday morning power.
John 20:1
Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.
John 20:19
That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said.
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen…
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
April 21
It was by faith that you responded to my invitation those many years ago. Each transition since then has required expansion of your faith, and each transition has opened both wonder and challenge. I have provided for you each day since that beginning. Each challenge loomed large and was filled with uncertainty, yet I guided you through each step. Do you recall my invitation? It was to follow me. I did not tell you where or how. Indeed, I refused to satisfy your desire to control your future. Mine is always a challenge to follow, to faith, and to trust. Mine is also a promise to honor obedience and faith. Do not fear the unknown. It is no less under my authority now as it was then. Come…follow me yet another day and a bit farther. I have something more to show you.
Hebrews 11:8
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
Mark 1:16-18
One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.
April 22
Talk to me. Spend time with me in thoughtful prayer. You rush by along your determined way with only a nod to me as you pass. Yet, I call you to remain with me, intentionally dwelling in my presence. For it is in those lingering moments, seeking me and exploring the urging of my Spirit within you, that I grant understanding and apply my written words to the experiences and needs that swirl around you. It is in the quiet of dedicated time before me that I reveal my way to you. The question you posed to me is important, and your understanding of my response is even more so. Reject the distractions that pull at you. Wait with me. Bring your full attention to me. I will lead you to understand and to act.
Mark 1:35
Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
Mark 14:37
Then he returned and found the disciples asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour?
April 23
I am present with you and in you, just as I promised my followers many years ago. My work as a human was completed through my sacrificial death and resurrection, and I withdrew that form. Since that moment, I have been with my followers in a spiritual form, my Holy Spirit. A time will come when I return in heavenly form. But for now, the story of my real and continuing presence is central to every event, every hope, and every decision in your life. As you move through this day, the standards and means by which you engage it are shaped by the power of my living Spirit and your obedient response to my guidance.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
1 Samuel 10:6-7
At that time the Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. After these signs take place, do what must be done, for God is with you.
April 24
I Am, and I have authority in all things. Remember this as you consider the impact of news reports and actions of the nations’ various leaders. Have I not taught you the mystery and power of prayer? Did I not direct you to pray constantly for government leaders? I am at work in a broader environment than you can imagine or grasp. Pray for my will to be done among them. Seek me on behalf of every decision point, known and unknown. Call on me to protect the minds of leaders from evil influence. Remember Who I AM, and trust me by faith in all these things.
Nehemiah 4:14
Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”
Psalm 20:7
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.
April 25
Confess your sin as I reveal it to you. Equally important, confess my power over sin and my forgiveness of it. Confession is your agreement with me regarding all that I AM and all that I expect. Confess my ownership and authority over all things, specifically including yourself. Confess my holiness. Confess my unconditional love. Confess my gracious nearness and care. Confess my wisdom as superior to your own. Confess my knowledge that is without limit. Confess your surrender to Me and My Way. Confess my promise of salvation and heaven. Yes... confess that I Am again this morning before you enter the day.
Romans 10:9-11
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.
April 26
It pleases me that your eyes are on me rather than on the rocks in our pathway. It is as I intend. So much around you compels planning, control, and strategy with each element of the assignment I have given you. Indeed, those factors are essential to effective outcomes. You have learned to focus on me rather than on yourself as the source of those plans. It is more important than you yet realize, for not only did I design you to rely on me, I appointed responsibilities that require it. I have purpose in this and am teaching you to rely on me for daily provision. Long ago, you asked if you might see my power demonstrated in your life experiences. I am answering...this is the place where miracles are experienced.
Matthew 6:11
Give us today the food we need,
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
April 27
You will find it difficult to follow me while holding onto your pride. Submission to me and my way is a journey of humility and service to others. I notice that you tend to select the subjects of your service based on your interests and timing rather than mine. Your love and care for others must be extended at my direction rather than at your convenience or according to your feelings. You are my agent in these matters of heart and care. I will appoint the subjects of my grace to be exercised through your service. Follow me as I guide you, and I will bless you in your actions.
John 13:14-17
And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
John 13:34-35
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
April 28
Invite me to expand my character within you. Be careful not to link my benefits with circumstantial ease. I intend that you experience the impact of my Spirit in you as exceptional to cultural norms, circumstantial challenges, and your emotional reaction to them. I am teaching you a different way to think and live dependent upon my constancies rather than the world’s variables. I am the light of your life, your authority, your strength, your accountability, your provision, and your future. Invest yourself in that fact.
Psalm 1:2-3
But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
Galatians 5:22-23, 25
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
April 29
The new nature I gave you is real. So is your old one. The constant press of the old against the new frustrates you, and the enticements pulling at the old are plentiful. It will remain that way during this part of our journey, but you are not without options. You need only to turn your mind towards me. I am in you and around you. In the instant you determine to seek me, I empower your reach. The push and pull fade in favor of my filling. Even as you record these words, this transition occurs. It is the putting on of your new nature. Just as your awareness of the cold prompts you to put on a garment and instantly know its warmth, your awareness of distance from me leads you to reach for me, and you are renewed. Allow this truth and all its richness to fill your life today.
Colossians 3:10, 16-17
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
April 30
Come looking for me today. Seek me intentionally and with determination, not to find a solution or a resource, but to find me – to be in my Presence. As with my friend Moses, understand the magnificence of my holiness and the grace extended to you as we speak face to face. Bring your hope with you…hope for your family, hope for your city, hope for your nation…hope for that which lies beyond your reach. Openly share your hope with me fully confident in my authority and purpose. Remain in my Presence and watch.
I Kings 18:37
O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.
March 2025
March 1
Hold to my promise. Honor my instruction. Claim my power. Represent me faithfully and courageously without reserve. Receive my wisdom. Trust my Spirit. Speak as I direct. Watch my work.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
March 2
The peace you experience is my presence within you. I have shown you in many ways that I alone control these matters, and what you once saw as insurmountable is simple for me. I made you a promise long ago...you remember...and my faithful promises serve as your armor and protection. There was a time when you acted as if you alone had to bear the full weight of these responsibilities, yet you have learned to follow me as I carry them. I have this. Your role is to follow me. I will cover you, shelter you, and lead you.
2 Kings 3:17-18
You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals. But this is only a simple thing for the Lord, for he will make you victorious...
March 3
Stay the course. Expect the contrary wind, but do not yield to it. I am your strength. I am your courage. I am your wisdom. Remain in my presence and continue to seek me in this matter. Have I not already given you knowledge and understanding? Did I not reveal a way forward? Lean on me and confess my ability to restore the broken parts. Act as I direct. Expect me. Trust me.
Exodus 15:2
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!
March 4
I am your source and provision today and every day. The responsibilities of this assignment are significant, and the resources needed to fulfill it are equally substantial. My plan is that you rely on me for resources, not on yourself. I have endowed you with capabilities suited to the task at hand. I have also chosen to have you confront your limitations and lean into my limitlessness. I know this feels unnatural -- it requires you to relinquish control. However, the more you embrace this, the more natural it becomes.
Psalms 36:8-9
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.
March 5
Shift your attention from these concerns to my reality and live this day in the strength of my promise. Come now into my presence through prayer. Confess your pride and surrender your will and hope to me. Open your mind to my Spirit and remember how I have led and protected you. Give thanks for my provision, which has never failed in its sufficiency or timing. The wonders you have witnessed are mine to craft and mine to direct. Yours is to humbly and obediently seek me. Trust me to make clear what you are to say, what you will do, and when. Always remember, the future is mine. Follow me.
Psalm 34:4-7
I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
For the angel of the LORD is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
March 6
Speak your praise and acknowledge your understanding that I Am. Embrace the authority of my Holy Spirit in every aspect of your life. Nothing is hidden from me. I know the hope for what you hold dear and the fear that this hope may not be realized if you relinquish control. It is a matter of trust that has become unhinged from belief. Remain in my presence and invite my Spirit to restore the faith that reconnects trust to belief. Yes, acknowledge your understanding that I Am and you are not.
Psalm 104
1 Let all that I am praise the LORD.
O LORD my God, how great you are!
You are robed with honor and majesty.
31 May the glory of the LORD continue forever!
The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!
33 I will sing to the LORD as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath!
34 May all my thoughts be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the LORD.
35 …Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
March 7
I am your confidence…speak it aloud to me. I made this assignment and equipped you for it. I placed you here precisely for this day. I am with you, in you, and going before you. I guide you by my Spirit through your spirit to your mind with clarity. There is nothing unknown to me or beyond my ability. Confess your dependence on me and step boldly into the day.
Proverbs 3:26
For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
Hebrews 10:35-36
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
Joshua 1:9
This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
March 8
Seek me, and you will find me. Experience freedom from the burdens that have weighed so heavily. The situation is real but not without remedy. I have already introduced actions you are to take that will bring relief and restoration. Trust me, not the emotions that plague you. I am the great reality of your life, and I will give you rest. My peace and confidence will guard you. Confess it. Expect it.
Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Psalm 16:9-11
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
March 9
How close am I? As close as the music sounds in your ear. As close as the air filling your chest. As close as the warmth of the sun on your skin. As close as the light that captures your eye. My reality surrounds you. The strength of my presence holds you. The courage you summon is me. The confidence you employ is me. The peace in which you rest is me. There is never a moment…even in the fiercest winds…that I am not right beside you. You will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:7-8
I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
March 10
I am teaching you much, and there is much more for you to learn. It is a life-long process. But that with which I have entrusted you is not yours alone. Part of my plan is you as multiplier, influencer, and teacher of my ways. Your influence will sometimes be passive...your example being observed. But your primary responsibility is active and purposeful influence. The effectiveness of your influence is a factor of your position relative to me. I want you to be so close to me and my way that when you engage others, they see me.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
March 11
You represent me. That simple fact brings great responsibility. Take care with every reference to my name, my word, and my way that I am never presented flippantly or improperly in your daily interactions. The people with whom I lead you to engage will often know little about me. In some cases, you will be the only connection they will have to me. Pay careful attention and follow closely...more than you can know depends upon it."
Matthew 6:9
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
Deuteronomy 5:11
You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
March 12
I guide you continually. When you need strength, I provide it. When you need direction, I illuminate it. When you need wisdom, I instill it. There is no end to my resource. You need only ask, and even then, I know what you need before you ask. I wait for you to turn your intention to me. In that moment, my grace…all of what I have for you…flows deeply into you, establishing your thought and your strength to act upon that thought. You will experience it as if your existence is a garden in spring after a rain. And, you will act as I direct to rebuild that which has become ruin and to restore that which has become fallow. It will occur before your eyes, and you will know that it is I who has done it.
Isaiah 58:11-12
The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.
March 13
My assignment to you and the influence I establish to accomplish it requires that you always represent me with constancy of character and integrity. I make no exceptions for cause, and there is no time off. If I were to expect this of you in your own ability, it would seem impossible. But I have not left you alone. My Spirit resides within you empowering you to live a life of obedience and dependence even when your will to do so weakens. You need only turn to me in those moments when you waiver. You will find strength and determination flowing and your will to obey rising. Yes…I expect a blameless life. Though impossible with you, it is entirely possible with me.
Psalm 101:2-6
I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas
and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.
March 14
There is something important I want you to know about people. I made each of you in such a way that you will respond openly and positively to genuine love and care. That is why I speak to you so much about how to truly love others. Some who know about me believe that the way to influence people is to push them toward a prescribed way of living, thinking that I will be impressed with their efforts. However, what I am teaching you is how to guide people to understand me. I will take care of leading them to my way of living. Love is the tool I will train you to use with great effect. Some may accuse your use of that tool as a sign that your commitment to my way is lacking. On the contrary, it is the single greatest indication that you are close to me and acting as I desire.
Proverbs 25:21-22 (The Message)
If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch; if he’s thirsty, bring him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness, and God will look after you.
Matthew 5:44-45
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven...
March 15
You are harboring anger that has become a target for the enemy. Your pride is the issue, and it is amplifying this problem unreasonably. You are attempting to fix it on your own. Let go of your pride, come into my presence, and confess your sin in this matter. I will forgive your sin, replace pride with humility, and restore the peace and confidence that are now missing. Remain with me and seek my instruction. I will lead you through this. Remember, I know every part of this tangle. Trust me to do what I promised…forgive and restore.
1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
March 16
This is a wonderful day for you to learn more about grace -- a small word with an incomprehensible breadth of meaning, serving as shorthand for all I offer you. Grace is my movement toward you in an act of extravagant love. It encompasses my provision, my direction, my protection, my favor, my forgiveness, my healing, my salvation, and my blessing. It is Me, in all of my righteousness and holiness, coming to you as an exercise of my will and purpose, not because you deserve it, but because I love you and choose to act for you. Yes, this is indeed a very good day for you to learn about my grace, to depend upon it, and even more, to invest your life in it.
March 17
Take care when you come to me in these moments not to do so lightly or hurriedly. I am not a spiritual vending machine, and prayer is not a token you drop in a slot to gain a treat and go merrily on your way. I am the Lord, your God, and there is nothing like me, for I created all that is, including you and everything I have placed before you to steward. So, when you come to me, when you speak to me, and when you speak of me, do so in a manner that keeps my name holy, never misused or mentioned flippantly. Now, follow me on my terms. That is your only job.
Luke 11:2
Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.
Philippians 2:10-11
...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
March 18
These moments spent in my presence are essential to your day. Turn every thought to me. Bring every question, every situation. Release them into my capable hands. Remain. Listen. Confess your need for me. Expect my response. I am your strength and guide for each step in the day. My grace is enough. Receive it. Lean on it. I am here. You cannot fix this. I can.
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
March 19
I am here. I hear the voice of your spirit and know the hope you bring and the weight you carry. You are holding it too tightly. Lay it down and release it to me. I am already attending to the things that so burden you. But you must decide to trust me with it as I mend your heart. I am holding you securely, and you will know my strength. I have arranged for the things you need for the day. You will discover my provision as you move. Remain in my presence as you enter the day and know my love and blessing.
Psalm 61:1-3
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
Psalm 63:6-8
I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.
March 20
Trust me with today's encounters. Look for goodness and embrace it. Pursue faithfulness and nurture it. Search for me and delight in your discovery. Dedicate yourself to finding me and trust that I am within you and surrounding you, guiding you along the way I have prepared for you. Yes, seek me, understand that I AM, and watch me act.
Psalm 37:3-5
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
March 21
You are right. It is a hard thing. If you were alone, it would be impossible. But you are not alone, and you never will be. I am here, and I know the way forward. Shift your focus from the distress and direct it towards me. Even as these words form in your mind, I strengthen you to make that transition as my peace begins to guard your thoughts and soothe your fears. My Spirit gently reveals my way forward, and you become aware of what to do and how to do it. Faith rises within you, and trust becomes real. Remember…you are mine, and I am yours.
Isaiah 26:3-4
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
March 22nd
Most of your attention is on how you feel and how you act. Yet, my attention is on how you think and how you interpret and process your understanding of the things around you. My Spirit is actively teaching you to view each experience through the lens of my reality and requirements so that your interpretation, understanding, and conclusion of meaning... your thinking about the experience…reflects mine. This is me transforming you by changing the way you think. It is like a lens replacement that clarifies your view of everything. As you think, so you will feel. As you feel, so you will act. Follow me with the understanding I provide.
Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Ephesians 4:23-24
Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
March 23
I saw your reaction. Ask me to develop my character in you. Confess your need and invite my Spirit to repair your heart. This is not a matter of win or lose. It is about following me and discovering my way to a prescribed future of my design. You will experience it from a base of humility and forgiveness, not the hard edge of pride. I gifted you with insight and understanding. They are not to be used to tear down and conquer but with compassion and meekness under the control of my Spirit to build according to my purpose. Come into my presence and follow me as I taught you. Trust me.
Colossians 3:12-13
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
March 24
Honor me in thought and action. Remember my commands and embrace humility. Invest in faith and inhabit my Word. Discover the fullness of my love and watch as I work in and around you. Absorb the wonder of my promise and the mystery of my way as you grow in the strength and knowledge of my Presence. Trust me in the challenge before you and know that I am directing each step.
Psalm 37:23-24
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.
March 25
The problem lies not in the complex nature of the challenge but in your distance from me and your emotional grip on the controls. I taught you to humbly seek me first in all matters. However, you are catering to a perceived expectation for results that you placed upon yourself. In doing so, your pride has risen. Although you did not intend to, you are trying to manage this alone. In these early moments of the day, relax your mental hold on the problem and enter my presence. Confess your drift and control. Receive my forgiveness and peace. Now, seek me and my guidance in this issue. You will realize my Spirit’s power as I prescribe the next step and each step thereafter.
Galatians 5:16-17, 25
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
March 26
Embrace my pruning. It is essential for the expansion of life. It is like a controlled burn in a pine forest. Briars and thorns allowed to grow and entangle, threaten to limit or destroy a primary purpose and must be removed. The fire can be dramatic and frightening to consider. But in the hands of a master forester, the burn preserves the pines for long life and creates a healthy environment for the creatures living under their shade. My controlled burn in a man’s life is equally dramatic. My Spirit forcefully removes detritus that hinders my purpose and nurtures health and effectiveness. It is a disturbing experience that gives life. Pray and trust me with the pruning.
Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
March 27
This matter is complicated, and you will not find an effective way forward without me. I taught you the proper position relative to me -- humbly enter my presence in prayer. Remain there. Seek my personal attention to this issue with the intensity of a drowning man seeking air. Ask me to reveal your sin; as I do so, confess it and turn away from it. I will hear you, forgive you, erase the stain of sin, and restore peace and confidence. Ask me for wisdom, understanding, and strength. I give it freely. I will also prescribe action. Respond obediently to my direction, nothing more or less. I will lead you to my good end.
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
March 28
You acted as I directed. Now leave it with me. I am at work in a heart. Maintain position in my presence. Pray and trust as you continue with other responsibilities. I know the need, and you know me. That is enough. Relax and accompany me through the day. There is work to do and much for you to discover.
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
John 14:23
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
March 29
Even though there is uncertainty, I am near and working on your behalf. Look for the traces of my hand passing. Love expands. Hope replaces fear. Provision is discovered. Care is exchanged. Hearts are softened. Fresh ideas are born and developed. I am being discovered by some who have not known me. When you look for me, you will find me, and I will show you a way where there seems to be no way. Yes…even in this, I am near. Put into practice everything I have taught you and that you saw me doing in the stories of Scripture. Then you will experience my peace.
Psalms 75:1
We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds.
Philippians 4:8-9
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
March 30
The experience of the moment was your heart receiving my comfort. It was no simple emotion; it was the reality of my Spirit moving within you. In that moment, you were reminded of my great love for you, and with that realization came faith, peace, and confidence as you entrusted your wellbeing to me. You knew anew that I am real, that I am everlasting, and that I supersede the challenge before you. Your faith and my impact on your life are part of my work in a grand plan of salvation and restoration. Watch. Pray. Expect. I am at work.
1 Thessalonians 1:6-8
…you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia. And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God…
March 31
The moment your attention shifts away from me, your need to control increases and trips you up. You easily fall into a do-it-yourself, take-no-prisoners approach, creating another mess. Bring your attention back to me. The power you seek is my strength on my terms-- amazing strength in and through you. Many around you disdainfully dismiss meekness as merely another word for weakness. Yet, I tell you that my meekness--humility in an environment of pride, gentleness amidst tension, kindness in the face of hatred--is only achieved through my strength within you. It draws others to you instead of pushing them away and allows my influence and grace to flourish. My way molds you to me and will impact the space you enter today. I favor those who are humble.
Matthew 5:5
God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.
Psalms 37:11
The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.
1 Peter 2:23
He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
